The first storage portion pipe causes a first refrigerant pipe of an outdoor refrigerant flow path and the refrigerant storage portion to communicate with each other, or causes the gas-side connection pipe and the refrigerant storage portion to communicate with each other. The second storage portion pipe causes the second refrigerant pipe of the outdoor refrigerant flow path and the refrigerant storage portion to communicate with each other.

摘要: A thermal management system includes a closed-circuit refrigeration system (CCRS) that includes a vapor cycle system (VCS). The VCS includes a receiver configured to store a refrigerant fluid; a liquid separator; a compressor; a condenser; at least one evaporator configured to extract heat from at least one heat load that is in thermal conductive or convective contact with the evaporator; and a thermal energy storage (TES) that stores a phase change material. The thermal management system further includes a liquid pumping system (LPS) that includes the TES, the at least one evaporator, and the liquid separator, with the LPS further including a pump. The VCS is configured to operate one at a time in at least one of three operational modes that are a TES cooling mode, a heat load cooling mode, or a pump-down mode. The LPS is configured to operate in the heat load cooling mode.

摘要: A heat pump including an integrated system for the management of refrigerant charge is provided. The heat pump includes an indoor line and an outdoor line that are connected to a compressor through a reversing valve. Refrigerant charge is managed by coupling the inactive line to the suction side of the compressor. For example, the heat pump can include an expansion valve to couple the inactive line to the compressor to supplement the flow-rate of refrigerant. The heat pump is operable in a dedicated water heating mode and a space cooling and water heating mode in some embodiments, while other modes of operation are contemplated in other embodiments.

摘要: A refrigerant recovery operation method for use in a refrigerator in which a freezing chamber and a refrigerating chamber are independently cooled is disclosed. The refrigerator and the method for controlling the same guarantee a sufficiently long refrigerant recovery operation time by performing the refrigerant recovery operation not only when the compressor starts operation but also before the compressor stops operation, resulting in implementation of the highest operation efficiency of a refrigerating chamber. The refrigerator guarantees high reliability of the compressor by increasing the refrigerant recovery amount within a predetermined pressure range in which the compressor can operate, and maintains an optimum refrigerant amount by variably controlling the refrigerant recovery operation time according to the outdoor air temperature, resulting in improvement of energy efficiency.
