Abstract:
Optical films performing the function of turning or extraction are described. More specifically, beaded clear layers having first and second layers of pressure sensitive adhesive and a plurality of microspheres are described. In some embodiments, the thicknesses of the first and second layers of pressure sensitive adhesive and the diameter of the microspheres are selected such that the first and second layers of pressure sensitive adhesive are not in contact. In other embodiments, the index of refraction of the microspheres is selected to reflect light through total internal reflection. Optical films with beaded clear layers and light extraction layers are also described.
Abstract:
A mirror display with controllable information display areas. The mirror display includes a reflective viewer side to function as a mirror and an LCD device located on a non-viewer side to provide information display areas, which are viewable through the mirror display on the viewer side. A processor is electronically connected with the LCD device for controlling a position, such as the location and size, of the information display areas on the viewer side of the mirror. The position of the information display areas can be controlled via user input or a signal received from a sensor associated with the mirror.

Abstract:
A transparent display booth for displaying products and providing product-related information. The display booth includes a bottom panel, a back panel, a transparent front plate opposite the back panel, and a transparent display device located co-extensive with the front plate. The bottom and back panels have reflective inner surfaces. The transparent display device can electronically display product-related information, and products located in an interior of the display booth are viewable through the transparent display device to showcase the products and offer them for sale. Multiple transparent display booths can be combined to form a networked retail system.
