    Abstract: A radio-wave transmitting substrate includes a dielectric substrate, and, on at least one main surface of the dielectric substrate, a heat-ray reflection film including an electroconductive film, and an opening where the electroconductive film is absent in a plan view. At least a part of the at least one main surface in a plan view is a radio-wave transmitting region. The radio-wave transmitting region is a region where every 1-cm square unit region in the region satisfies the following expression (a): L>802.6×S−503.7. L is an overall length (unit: mm/cm2) of a boundary between the heat-ray reflection film and the opening in the unit region, and S is a proportion of an area occupied by the heat-ray reflection film in the unit region.

    Abstract: A glass article which has: a glass plate having a contour shape having an upper edge and a lower edge; a functional film formed on at least one of principal surfaces of the glass plate; and a holder having a recessed portion into which the lower edge of the glass plate is fitted, wherein the functional film has a first coverage area and a second coverage area, the second coverage area being formed in a manner to cover the principal surface, the first coverage area being formed on a lower side of the second coverage area, and a maximum film thickness of the first coverage area being smaller than a maximum film thickness of the second coverage area, and the holder is provided on a lower edge side of the glass plate, within the first coverage area of functional film, via an adhesive in the recessed portion.

    Abstract: A water-repellent structure includes a substrate, and a water-repellent film formed on a surface of the substrate, in which: the water-repellent film includes a water-repellent layer containing a siloxane bond and one or more type(s) of organic groups bonded to a Si atom and not containing any fluorine atom; a surface of the water-repellent layer is an outermost surface of the water-repellent film; the surface of the water-repellent layer has an elastic modulus distribution, and includes a high elastic modulus part having an elastic modulus of 6.0 GPa or higher and a low elastic modulus part having an elastic modulus of 4.0 GPa or lower in an arbitrarily selected micron region of 1 μm square; and a root mean square inclination value of a surface elastic modulus in the micron region is 3.5 GPa or higher.

    Abstract: There are provide a liquid composition for forming a silicon oxide-based cured coating film by the sol-gel method, the liquid composition having excellent storage stability and being capable of forming a coating film excellent in durability, in particular, alkali resistance even after long-term storage. A liquid composition applied on a surface of a substrate and cured by heating to form a coating film, contains: a matrix component containing a hydrolyzable silicon compound whose content is 20 to 60 mass % as a SiO2 content when silicon atoms contained in the matrix component are converted into SiO2 to the total solid content amount in the liquid composition; a functional component containing an ultraviolet absorbent and an infrared absorbent; water; and an acid thermally decomposing at 80° C. or higher and a temperature of the heating or lower, wherein a pH increases between before and after the thermal decomposition of the acid.
