    Abstract: A system includes a storage volume configured to store a data set in a plurality of data blocks, a data store configured to store a plurality of captures of the data set in a plurality of data chunks, and file retrieval logic. The data set includes a file stored in a first data block of the plurality of data blocks. The file retrieval logic is configured to identify a first data chunk of the plurality of data chunks in which the first data block as captured in a first capture is stored in the data store, retrieve the first data chunk from the data store, and read the first data block as captured in the first capture from the first data chunk.

    Abstract: A display device and a method for making the same are provided. In the method, source and drain contacts are patterned on a buffer layer. An IGZO layer is depositing over at least a portion of the source contact and a portion of the drain contact. A gate structure is formed over the IGZO layer. A silicon nitride layer is deposited over the gate structure and the IGZO layer to form a first doped region in the IGZO layer and a second doped region in the IGZO layer. A pixel electrode is formed over the buffer layer. A plurality of pixel walls are formed over the buffer layer, the plurality of pixel walls being associated with an electrowetting pixel and the pixel electrode being configured to a apply voltage within the electrowetting pixel. At least one of the source contact and the drain contact is connected to the pixel electrode.

    Abstract: Electrowetting display elements comprising a thin film transistor are disclosed. In examples, the thin film transistor may comprise a first gate terminal, a semiconducting channel overlying at least a portion of the first gate terminal, a source terminal formed on at least a first portion of the semiconducting channel, and a drain terminal formed on at least a second portion of the semiconducting channel, different from the first portion of the semiconducting channel. The source and drain terminals may form an inter-terminal region of the semiconducting channel located between the source terminal and the drain terminal. A second gate terminal may be formed overlying at least a portion of the inter-terminal region so as to shield the inter-terminal region from light and to increase the conductivity of the semiconducting channel.

    Abstract: A pixel-based display device, such as an electrowetting display, includes an array of routing dummy pixels that are electrically interconnected in series, forming a conductive routing trace through the pixel area. Within the routing dummy pixel substrate, a source-drain metal layer is electrically isolated from a gate metal layer. A source metal interconnect between the source-drain metal layers of vertically adjacent routing dummy pixels electrically connects the vertically adjacent routing dummy pixels in series. The routing trace conducts a common voltage from a power supply to a common connector pad, facilitating relocation of the pad from the bottom to the top of the display. The pad and the source-drain and reflector metal layers of the routing dummy pixels have the same electric potential, ensuring that the routing dummy pixels remain in an “off” state and appear black throughout operation of the display device.

    Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide for novel boundary generation features for interleaving additional content into media content. Media content may be received which includes a video and audio portion. An unencrypted encode of the video portion may be generated. A first set of time stamps for the video portion may be generated using a computer vision algorithm. A second set of time stamps for the video portion may be generated for identifying IDR frames using a first algorithm. A third set of time stamps may be generated to serve as boundaries for interleaving additional content into the media content based on a priority algorithm that uses the first set of time stamps and the second set of time stamps. The video portion may be encoded using the third set of time stamps to determine the IDR frames for the media content.

    Abstract: A device includes first and second support plates. A plurality of pixel walls are formed over the first support plate. The plurality of pixel walls are associated with an electrowetting pixel and define a volume. The electrowetting pixel includes a fluid accumulation region defined by a recess in a hydrophobic layer of the electrowetting pixel. A transistor is over the first support plate underneath a first pixel wall in the plurality of pixel walls and a pixel electrode is formed over the first support plate underneath the volume defined by the plurality of pixel walls in electrical contact with the transistor. A bottom electrode is formed over the first support plate underneath the volume defined by the plurality of pixel walls. A first portion of the bottom electrode is located underneath the fluid accumulation region and a second portion of the bottom electrode is located underneath the pixel electrode.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for providing content playback options to content playback systems based on the capabilities of the systems. These techniques determine whether the content options should be provided based on the capabilities of a source device in a combined playback system. The version of the High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) protocol used to initialize the connection between the source and sink devices is determined. Based on the version of the HDCP protocol used, an override message may be sent to the content service, in response to which the media player on the source device is directed to an content service endpoint corresponding to particular set of playback options.
