Abstract: The systems and methods described herein enable measurement of the exposure of a user to advertising campaigns across different channels (e.g., websites accessed by web browsers of laptops, desktops, or mobile computers, electronic readers or tablets, applications on mobile devices, and the like) and credit the exposure of the user to the advertisement to a specific advertisement in the campaign along with subsequent shopping events generated by the user, such as visiting product detail pages, visiting the read all reviews page for a product, adding a product to a wish list, adding a product to a shopping cart, subscribing to a product through an online subscription service, and/or purchasing a product.

Abstract: A method is described for selecting and caching a video advertisement to be presented on a client device. The method may include determining customer interests for an individual customer, selecting a video advertisement based upon the customer's interests and providing the video advertisement to a client device so that the video advertisement may be cached on the client device and may be available to display to a customer when a customer selects video content to play on the client device.

Abstract: An item categorization service is described that automatically categorizes items of interest to a user. The user may possess an item that they wish to offer for sale using a network-based service. The user may submit item information to the item categorization service to categorize the item of interest. Upon receipt, the categorization service may assess the relevance of the item information to hierarchically organized categories maintained by the network-based service. Categories having the highest relevance may be identified as first category candidates. The deepest common ancestor of the first category candidates may be identified the first category. One or more categories, representing sub-categories of the first category, may be identified as and subjected to relevance assessment. Those sub-categories having the highest relevance may be identified as second category candidates. The deepest common ancestor of the second category candidates may be identified as a second category for the item of interest.
