Abstract: PROBLEM
To provide a revolutionary airbag device that can protect an occupant's head from one side, to the front, to the other side.
RESOLUTION MEANS
The present invention is an airbag device stored in a vehicle seat, the airbag device including: an inflator for generating expansion gas; and an airbag for deploying from near an upper end of the vehicle seat to protect the periphery of the head of an occupant. Furthermore, the airbag includes: a first chamber for protecting one side of an occupant; a second chamber connected to the first chamber and for protecting the front of the occupant's head; a third chamber connected to the second chamber and for deploying from the front of the occupant's head across to the other side of the occupant; and a fourth chamber connected to the third chamber and for deploying at the other side of the occupant.

Abstract: An airbag device for protecting an occupant in a passenger seat of a vehicle, is stowed in the instrument panel, and is provided with an inflator that generates expansion gas and an airbag for restraining the occupant that expands and deploys from the instrument panel towards the occupant side based on the gas discharged from the inflator. The airbag is formed of woven cloth with mutually orthogonal warp thread and weft thread. The airbag includes an occupant side panel facing the occupant and side surface panels that are connected by a seam to a peripheral end part of the occupant side panel and from side surfaces of the airbag. Furthermore, the occupant side panel and the side surface panels are connected so the fabric of both panels approximately match at a connection point.

Abstract: An airbag device comprises: an airbag including a head-protecting cushion that protects the head of an occupant by being deployed from an upper portion on the left or right side of a vehicle seat; and an inflator that supplies an inflation gas to the airbag. The head-protecting cushion comprises: a first chamber that protects an area near one side of the head of the occupant; a second chamber connected to the first chamber and which protects the front of the head of the occu-pant; a third chamber connected to the second chamber and which is deployed to span from the front of the head of the occupant to the other side of the head of the occupant; and a fourth chamber connected to the third chamber and which is deployed in an area near the other side of the head of the occupant.
