Abstract:
Described herein is a microgenerator of electrical energy with a high power density, which uses an internal-combustion micromotor with two combustion chambers set opposite to one another, within which a piston is displaced with reciprocating motion. The piston is at least in part made of magnetic material and is wound with a coil, within which is generated an electric current by induction. The fuel, the oxidant, and preferably a catalyst, are injected into each of the two combustion chambers by means of injectors that are substantially of the same type as those used in ink-jet printer heads. The dimensions of the device are comparable to those of a 1.5-V NiCd battery of a traditional standard type.
Abstract:
Described herein is a fuel-cell stack, which comprises a plurality of direct-alcohol fuel cells electrically connected together. Each cell has a miniaturized structure comprising a first electrode, a second electrode, an electrolyte set between the first electrode and the second electrode, means for conducting electrical current to the first electrode, and means for conducting electrical current to the second electrode. The miniaturized structure of each cell is made up of a plurality of layers set on top of one another, and the various miniaturized structures are associated in an unremovable way to a flexible substrate capable of being wound up in a roll.
Abstract:
A motor vehicle comprises a vehicle body, inside which there are defined a passenger compartment, designed to house one or more persons, and a rear loading compartment, which is able to house at least one domestic animal. In the vehicle body there are defined at least one inlet passage for conveyance of air from outside the motor vehicle to the rear compartment and at least one outlet passage for expulsion of air from the rear compartment to outside the motor vehicle, for the purposes of: creating a separation of the aerodynamic flows between the passenger compartment and the rear compartment, where the animal is housed; improving the conditions of respiration and of general well-being of the animal; and aiding the elimination of unpleasant smells from the rear compartment for housing of the animal, and improving as a whole the quality of the air inside the passenger compartment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a miniaturized device controlled by electromagnetic signals in the radiofrequency range for controlled release of substances or for controlled sampling of specimens, comprising a reservoir, and a closing system associated to said reservoir, where said closing system is constituted by a valve structure, closing-opening of which is controlled by the electromagnetic signal in the radiofrequency range.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is a collection device that can be carried by disabled persons, comprising a section of duct, destined to be connected to the rectum of the person, an expansible container, connected to said section of duct, and a shutter device interposed in the aforesaid section of duct and controlled by actuator means, for example shape-memory or electromagnetic means, activated by the signal of a sensor.
