    Abstract: An electronic watch includes a pointer; a stepping motor including a coil and configured to drive the pointer; a driving circuit configured to drive the stepping motor; an A/D converter configured to detect electromotive force generated in the coil due to an impact; and a CPU configured to control driving of the driving circuit. The CPU determines a direction in which the pointer is likely to be shifted, based on the electromotive force detected by the A/D converter, determines whether the pointer is shifted due to the impact, and upon determining that the pointer is shifted, corrects a position of the pointer in accordance with the direction in which the pointer is likely to be shifted.

    Abstract: There is provided a solar panel including: solar cells each of which is formed in a belt-shape extending in a predetermined direction on a plate-shaped surface and which are disposed in rows in a cell-width direction; a partition area that divides the solar cells from each other; and a connecting part that connects adjoining solar cells among the solar cells electrically in series at respective ends in the extending direction. The solar cells have, across at least two of the solar cells, a transparent power generation area in which a power generation area and a transparent area are alternately disposed in the extending direction. The transparent power generation area extends over an entire cell width of at least one of the solar cells, and the connecting part is disposed at each of opposite ends in the extending direction of the at least one solar cell.

    Abstract: An electronic timepiece, including: a motor having a rotor and at least two coils, the rotor being configured to rotate to a plurality of prescribed positions; and a driving processor for driving the motor, the driving processor being configured to: generate a detection pulse for detecting whether or not the rotor has rotated; cause the generated detection pulse to be applied to at least one of the at least two coils; receive a signal indicating a detected value of current flowing in the at least one of the at least two coils that is generated in response to the detection pulse outputted to the at least one of the at least two coils; and determine whether or not the rotor has rotated to one of the plurality of prescribed positions on the basis of the detected value of current.

    Abstract: A solar panel of the present invention, above which a pointer mounted on a pointer shaft inserted in a through hole in a center portion of the solar panel moves, includes a plurality of solar cells arranged in a substantially circular shape, and these solar cells have been divisionally formed into a substantially spiral shape so that the pointer is positioned over two of the plurality of solar cells. Accordingly, the pointer can always be positioned over two of the plurality of solar cells, and therefore a decrease of light-receiving area due to the pointer can be distributed between the two solar cells. As a result, a decrease in the output current of the plurality of solar cells over which the pointer is positioned can be suppressed, and the output current of the entire plurality of solar cells can be improved.
