Abstract: In a method for image enhancement of image data of a dental image generation system, comprising a first image generating unit (205, 210) for producing two-dimensional image data and a second image generating unit (250, 255) for producing three-dimensional image data, wherein for an object to be examined (220, 222) the image generation system provides both two-dimensional image data and three-dimensional image data, it is in particular provided that the two-dimensional image data and the three-dimensional image data are merged in such a way that the image quality and/or the information content of the two-dimensional image data or of the three-dimensional image data is improved.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for calibrating at least one 2D X-ray image of an object to be imaged, which is recorded by an X-ray device in that X-rays produced by an X-ray source radiate through the object and are recorded by an X-ray detector. An already existing 3D model of a structure of the object is compared to the 2D X-ray image, wherein an actual image positional relationship of the X-ray source and the X-ray detector relative to the object, and/or relative to one another, is determined for the 2D X-ray image.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for capturing a dental object with an object volume, in particular, at least one part of a maxilla and/or a mandible, with the sue of an MRT apparatus. A plurality of MRT segment images, which depict the defined segmented volume regions are acquired by an MRT apparatus within a measurement volume of the MRT apparatus. The segmented volume regions overlap no more than partially. In this case a target surface is defined or has already been defined. Then a two dimensional composite image, which corresponds to a two dimensional aggregate image through the target surface within the object volume of the dental object, is generated computer-aided from the individual MRT segment images.
