Abstract: A composition and method for dispersing sulfur, cleaning sulfur deposits, and minimizing foaming in an aqueous system is disclosed. The method may include adding a first sulfur dispersant to process water containing sulfur and dispersing the sulfur. The first sulfur dispersant may include a C5-C25 alkyl polyglycoside. A second sulfur dispersant may also be added to the process water. The second sulfur dispersant may include a polymer of acrylic acid and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to improved methods for inhibiting the formation and deposition of sulfide and silica scale in aqueous systems. In particular, the methods include injecting a composition into an aqueous system or wellbore. The composition includes a sulfide scale inhibitor and a silica scale inhibitor. The sulfide scale inhibitor may be a copolymer of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and an anionic monomer. The silica scale inhibitor may be a copolymer of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and an alkoxylated monomer.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for cleaning silica deposits from a turbine. A method of cleaning a turbine is disclosed that can include contacting a deposit on a surface of the turbine with a composition and removing at least a portion of the deposit from the surface of the turbine. The composition can include a tetrafluoroboric acid and a urea component, and the deposit includes silica.
