摘要: The present disclosure includes a process and method for brine concentration. A Nano filtration (NF) membrane removes divalent ions while permeating monovalent ions. In a sequential concentration process (membrane and thermal), the monovalent ions reach crystallization. The brine concentrator system can treat the brine of the desalination plants or the effluent of the industrial and chemical plants. The disclosed system can treat the produced water of the oil and gas sector. Two options are disclosed herein. In the first option, an RO system is used to recover water from an FO concentrator where in the second option the advanced MED-AB technology is used to recover water from the FO brine concentrator. The merit of the second option is explored where waste heat energy is available.

摘要: An evaporator for solar desalination and a preparation method thereof and use thereof are provided. The evaporator has a porous skeleton, interconnected channels, and a hydrophobic decoration. The interconnected channels are formed from gaps of the porous skeleton, and the hydrophobic decoration is positioned on the surface of the porous skeleton. The evaporator is for sustainable solar water evaporation even in highly salty water. Specifically, the continuous evaporation for 24 h without salt precipitation in 20 wt % NaCl solution can be realized.

摘要: A produced water evaporation system for spray evaporating water comprising a geothermal heat retainment system and an evaporation system is disclosed. The geothermal heat retainment system comprises a first feed inlet, an optional solar collection system or a heat exchanger, and a first discharge outlet. The evaporation system comprises a second feed inlet, a pump, a drip manifold comprising a drip orifice or a manifold comprising a nozzle, a container, wherein a first portion of a ceiling of the container is constituted by a demister element such that the first portion of the ceiling is entirely configured as an outlet for evaporated water and wherein a second portion of the ceiling is adjacent to an upper edge of a wall of the container, a second discharge outlet, and an air system comprising an air blower and an optional air preheater, wherein the air system is disposed through the wall of the container and wherein the air system discharges air flow counter to the produced water and/or water droplets from the drip orifice. A method of using the produced water evaporation system is also disclosed.

摘要: A blowdown water stream from a cooling tower is contacted with an ion exchange resin packing, such that at least a portion of the phosphorus from the blowdown water stream adsorbs to the ion exchange resin packing to produce a water stream that has a phosphorus content that is less than a phosphorus content of the blowdown water stream. A regenerant stream is contacted with the ion exchange resin packing, such that at least a portion of the phosphorus that has adsorbed to the ion exchange resin packing, desorbs from the ion exchange resin packing to produce a spent regenerant stream. The spent regenerant stream, a first reactant stream including magnesium ions, and a second reactant stream including ammonium ions are flowed to a reaction vessel. The spent regenerant stream, the first reactant stream, and the second reactant stream are mixed to produce a product that includes struvite.
