    摘要: A differential dry pipe control valve for fire protection sprinkler systems includes an eccentric plug that rotates and separates supply water and system air pressure and uses an integral actuator that maintains the seal of the eccentric plug with a smaller ratio of air pressure to a higher supply water pressure. When the sprinkler system is actuated, the actuator allows the rotary eccentric plug to open the waterway and includes an eccentric plug opening that swings out of the waterway to reduce friction loss of the water supply. The eccentric plug includes a conical rubber coated seat surface and dynamic metal seal seat that seals due to water pressure eliminating close tolerance mating of sealing components. The actuator includes an integral alarm connection to provide a required alarm function and acts as a pilot differential actuator to provide the required operation of an approximately 5.5:1 ratio differential dry pipe control valve. This valve can also function as an open system Deluge valve or closed system Preaction valve for sprinkler systems that operate from separate detection systems where the supply liquid holds the valve closed until a detection system detects a fire and signals the deluge valve to open for discharge of suppressant liquid on the protected fire area.

The body mounted seal includes differential pressure area surfaces to balance the fluid pressures imposed thereon, and the springs are isolated from the fluid within the body. The joint eliminates metal-to-metal engagement of moving parts, and the seals may be readily replaced when worn.

    摘要: An early suppression fast response fire protection system includes a sprinkler piping system with at least one sprinkler head assembly, a water supply system, and a check valve in fluid communication with the sprinkler piping system and the water supply system. An antifreeze solution supply system is in fluid communication with the sprinkler piping system, with the check valve isolating the antifreeze solution from the water supply unless a fire condition occurs. A control is provided that is in communication with a flow detector, which detects the pressure of the antifreeze solution in the sprinkler piping system, and a pressure detector, which detects the flow of water through the check valve, and controls the flow of the antifreeze solution to the sprinkler piping system and maintains the pressure of the antifreeze solution in the sprinkler piping system unless the flow detector detects the flow of water through the check valve in which case the control stops the flow of antifreeze solution to the sprinkler piping system to limit the discharge of antifreeze solution from the fire protection system.

    摘要: A floor nozzle for a floor fire suppressant system includes a body and a deflector which is supported on the body. The body includes a transverse passage and a body flange. The transverse passage defines an inlet opening and an outlet opening, with the body flange extending around the outlet opening. The inlet opening is provided for coupling to a fire suppressant supply system. The deflector is spaced from the outlet opening and includes a deflector flange with a plurality of projecting members which extend from the deflector flange toward the body flange. Projecting members are radially spaced around the outlet opening to form a plurality of passageways through which the fire suppressant exiting the outlet opening flows to form a generally lateral radial pattern for delivering fire suppressant to the floor area. The deflector and the body are adapted to support at least a portion of the weight of an aircraft riding over the flange. A floor fire suppressant system for a floor area of an aircraft facility includes a floor grating for positioning over a trench of the floor area, and a nozzle. The nozzle includes a body with a transverse passage defining an inlet opening and an outlet opening, with the inlet opening for communicating with a fire suppressant supply pipe. The nozzle is supported by the floor grating and includes a deflector supported on the body for dispersing fire suppressant exiting from the outlet opening in a generally lateral radial pattern. The deflector is adapted to carry at least a portion of the weight of an aircraft riding over the deflector.

    摘要: The invention pertains to a rotary joint wherein pressures imposed upon the joint by the pressurized medium therein are internally compensated. The joint is characterized by its ability to accommodate axial drum expansion, minimize rotative friction and the major joint components are self-aligning with respect to rotary motion. The basic components include a body member receiving an end of a nipple member, one of the members being fixed against axial displacement. A single annular nipple seal mounted upon the nipple member within the body member chamber engaging a seal ring constitutes the sole mechanical connection between the body and nipple members, and the fact that the nipple seal is axially displaceable upon the nipple member permits an internal compensation of axial forces produced within the joint, permits accommodation of axial thermal expansion of the joint components, and the spherical configuration of the nipple seal provides self alignment between the body and nipple members.
