Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method, an apparatus, and a storage medium for image encoding/decoding using geometric partitioning. Partitioning of a block may be determined using directionality in a block. A straight line is detected in the block, some of partitioning methods available for the block are excluded depending on the type of the detected straight line, and only the remaining partitioning methods are limited to a target of selection for encoding and/or decoding on the target block. Further, the mode of a geometric partitioning mode may be determined using directionality in the block. Abstract: There are provided an apparatus, method, system, and recording medium for performing selective encoding/decoding on feature information. An encoding apparatus generates residual feature information. The encoding apparatus transmits the residual feature information to a decoding apparatus through a residual feature map bitstream. The residual feature information is the difference between feature information extracted from an original image and feature information extracted from a reconstructed image. Feature information of the reconstructed image is generated using the reconstructed image. Reconstructed feature information is generated using the feature information of the reconstructed image and reconstructed residual feature information.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an encoding apparatus using a Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) scanning, which includes a mode selection means for selecting an optimal mode for intra prediction; an intra prediction means for performing intra prediction onto video inputted based on the mode selected in the mode selection means; a DCT and quantization means for performing DCT and quantization onto residual coefficients of a block outputted from the intra prediction means; and an entropy encoding means for performing entropy encoding onto DCT coefficients acquired from the DCT and quantization by using a scanning mode decided based on pixel similarity of the residual coefficients.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method, an apparatus and a storage medium for encoding/decoding using a transform-based feature map. An optimal basis vector is extracted from one or more feature maps, and a transform coefficient is acquired through a transform using the basis vector. The basis vector and the transform coefficient may be transmitted through a bitstream. In an embodiment, one or more feature maps are reconstructed using the basis vector and the transform coefficient, which are decoded from the bitstream.

The moving picture encoding apparatus includes: a mode selector for selecting and outputting a prediction mode; a predictor for predicting pixel values of pixels to be encoded of an input video based on the prediction mode to thereby output a residue signal block; a transform/quantization unit for performing DCT onto the residue signal block and quantizing the transformed residue signal block; and an encoder for adaptively scanning and encoding the quantized residue signal block based on the prediction mode.

In an aspect, there is provided an encoding method, including extracting feature maps from an input image, performing packing on the extracted feature maps, and performing encoding on the packed feature maps, wherein the feature maps include multiple feature maps having different resolutions. In another aspect, there is provided a decoding method, including generating packed feature maps by decoding an input bitstream, and generating a multi-resolution feature map by performing unpacking on the packed feature maps, wherein the multi-resolution feature map includes multiple feature maps having different resolutions.
