    Abstract: An operation method of a base station in a communication system may comprise: generating first RACH configuration information for a normal terminal; generating second RACH configuration information for a RedCap terminal; transmitting a message including the first RACH configuration information and the second RACH configuration information; and performing a random access procedure with a first terminal based on the message, wherein a terminal type of the first terminal is identified based on the first RACH configuration information and the second RACH configuration information, and the terminal type is the normal terminal or the RedCap terminal.

    Abstract: A method for reducing power consumption of a terminal that communicates with a base station in a mobile communication system using a multi-carrier sturcture composed of a primary component carrier and at least one secondary component carrier comprises: receiving a discontinuous reception (DRX) parameter group for multi carriers from the base station; and setting the multi carriers to the same parameter value, by using the received parameter group. The method for reducing power consumption of the terminal further comprises: performing a downlink control channel receive operation on each carrier according to a DRX cycle. As the base station in the mobile communication system using the multi-carrier structure simplifies the DRX process for reducing power consumption of a terminal by reducing signaling load for the multi-carrier control of the terminal, it becomes possible to reduce power consumption of the terminal.

    Abstract: Provided is a method for transmitting paging information in a cellular system. An object of the method is transmitting paging information which can improve applicability of a limited radio resource by variably and flexibly setting up and mapping a transport channel and a physical channel in order to transmit information notifying start of downlink information from a base station to a terminal in a cellular system for packet transmission. The method includes the steps of: forming a paging channel (PCH) in a transport channel corresponding to generation of paging information; setting a paging indication channel (PICH) based on the paging information and forming the paging indication channel in a radio resource of a physical layer; and allocating the paging channel to the radio resource of the physical layer.
