    Abstract: To provide a powder material for additive layer manufacturing capable of molding a three-dimensional shaped molded article having less cracking or chipping and having high hardness and a method for manufacturing a molded article using the powder material.
    A powder material for additive layer manufacturing used to manufacture a three-dimensional shaped molded article by irradiation with a laser light or an electron beam contains cobalt, a first component containing one or more substances selected from the group consisting of vanadium carbide, niobium carbide, and molybdenum carbide, an optional additive component, and the balance of tungsten carbide. The content of the first component is 0.6% by mass or more and 5% by mass or less.

    Abstract: A molding material is provided which, despite containing a ceramic, enables efficient molding for producing high-density molded articles. The present invention provides a molding material to be used in powder laminate molding. This molding material contains a first powder which contains a ceramic, and a second powder which contains a metal. Further the first powder and the second powder are bonded by sintering to configure granulated sintered particles. The granule strength of the granulated sintered particles is greater than 1 MPa and less than 10,000 MPa.

    Abstract: Provided is a compact thermal spray powder suitable for forming a ceramic thermal spray coating which is compact and excels in durability. The thermal spray powder disclosed herein includes ceramic particles formed of a ceramic material with a melting point equal to or lower than 2000° C. The thermal spray powder is configured such that the peak top of a main peak is in a range of 10 μm or less in a log differential pore volume distribution obtained by a mercury porosimetry, and when the peak top of a second peak is at a fine pore size less than that of the peak top of the main peak, the ratio (H2/H1) of the height H2 of the second peak to the height H1 of the main peak is 0.05 or less.
