Abstract:
The present application provides a media pad for cooling an inlet air flow to a compressor of a gas turbine engine. The media pad may include a first media sheet with a chevron corrugated surface having a first mist eliminator and a second media sheet with a wavy corrugated surface having a second mist eliminator.
Abstract:
The present application provides a power augmentation system for use with a gas turbine engine. The power augmentation system may include a compressor discharge manifold, an inlet bleed heat system in communication with the compressor discharge manifold via an inlet bleed heat line, and an auxiliary compressor in communication with the compressor discharge manifold via the inlet bleed heat line.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an assembly including a fibrous medium having a plurality of substantially corrugated channels therein, the plurality of substantially corrugated channels being permeable to a flow of fluid therethrough; a distributor in contact with the fibrous medium, and including an aperture therein for transmitting a liquid coolant through the distributor; and at least two acoustic shields coupled to the fibrous medium and proximal to opposing sides of the distributor.
Abstract:
The present application provides an inlet bleed heat system for supplying a flow of bleed air to a flow of incoming air into a compressor of a gas turbine engine. The inlet bleed heat system may include an air knife and a silencer panel. The air knife may include a compressor bleed air port in communication with the flow of bleed air and a discharge gap to discharge the flow of bleed air into the flow of incoming air. The air knife may and the silencer panel may form an integrated air knife/silencer panel.

Abstract:
An integrated coil and fin system in a gas turbine inlet. The integrated system includes at least one wavy, non-planar, fin integrated with at least one heating/cooling coil, wherein the at least one coil is configured to heat or cool air moving through the gas turbine inlet, and wherein the at least one non-planar fin is configured to remove moisture in the air moving through the gas turbine inlet. In one embodiment, at least one hook can be included at an end or along a length of at least one non-planar fin.
Abstract:
An on-line wash system for a compressor including: a nozzle including a flow passage for wash liquid, wherein the flow passage is configured to be coupled to a source of a wash liquid and includes a discharge outlet arranged to project the wash liquid into a stream of working fluid for the turbomachine; an electrode proximate to the flow passage of the nozzle, wherein the electrode is configured to form an electrical field sufficient to charge the wash liquid flowing through the passage and the charge applied to the wash liquid is of a first polarity, and a surface of the compressor charged with the first polarity, wherein the surface is exposed to the stream of working fluid and downstream of the nozzle.
Abstract:
In a first embodiment, a system, including an exhaust duct configured to flow an exhaust gas, and an air injection system coupled to the exhaust duct, wherein the air injection system comprises a first air injector configured to inject air into the exhaust duct to assist flow of the exhaust gas through the exhaust duct.
