A method of operating an electrolyzer in a combined cycle power plant comprises operating a steam system to convert water to steam, operating an electrolyzer in a standby mode, the electrolyzer configured to convert water and electricity to hydrogen and oxygen when the electrolyzer is in an operating mode, circulating water from the steam system through a heat exchanger, circulating a first heat transfer medium between the electrolyzer and the heat exchanger, and circulating a second heat transfer medium between the heat exchanger and a thermal storage container.

More particularly, proposed is a ship cogeneration system using waste heat of an LNG engine ship recovered through an economizer. The ship cogeneration system is configured to generate electric power by recovering waste heat generated from an LNG engine and providing high-temperature and high-pressure steam discharged from the economizer to an evaporator of an organic Rankine cycle. The ship cogeneration system is capable of removing soot generated on a contact surface between the exhaust gas of the LNG engine and the economizer by using some of the high-temperature and high-pressure steam.

摘要: A system includes a retention system configured to support a heat exchanger along a flow path within a duct. The retention system includes a first sleeve configured to extend between opposite first and second walls of the duct, a first cable extending through the first sleeve, and a first bumper coupled to the first sleeve. The first bumper is configured to contact the heat exchanger. The retention system includes a first tensioner coupled to the first cable, wherein the first tensioner is configured to provide a first tension in the first cable. The first tension is adjustable to detune the natural frequency of the heat exchanger away from any excitation load frequencies caused by an exhaust gas flow through the duct.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods useful for power production. In particular, a power production cycle utilizing CO2 as a working fluid may be configured for simultaneous hydrogen production. Beneficially, substantially all carbon arising from combustion in power production and hydrogen production is captured in the form of carbon dioxide. Further, produced hydrogen (optionally mixed with nitrogen received from an air separation unit) can be input as fuel in a gas turbine combined cycle unit for additional power production therein without any atmospheric CO2 discharge.

A steam turbine is configured to discharge a steam stream therefrom, a carbon capture system is configured to receive the steam stream, a recirculation blower is configured to pressurize a portion of the second exhaust gas stream for recirculation towards the compressor inlet, and an air inlet blower is configured to pressurize an airflow stream channeled towards the compressor inlet, such that a pressurized mixed flow stream, formed from the portion of the second exhaust gas stream and the airflow stream, is received at the compressor inlet.

The power plant system includes a combustor configured, a turbine configured to generate electricity, a heat exchanger and a steam turbine, a carbon capture system configured to remove at least a portion of carbon-based gasses from the flue gas downstream from the heat recovery steam generator, and a thermal storage system including a hot storage unit configured to store thermal energy at a hot temperature, the hot temperature greater than ambient temperature. The power plant is configured to operate in at least a first mode for storing thermal energy in the thermal storage system and a second mode for releasing the stored thermal energy from the thermal storage system and during the second mode, heat stored in the hot storage unit is transferred to the carbon capture system.

摘要: Systems and methods for generating power using hydrogen fuel, such as derived from natural gas, are provided. Feed materials are introduced into a compact hydrogen generator to produce carbon dioxide, hydrogen gas and steam. Sorbent material within the compact hydrogen generator acts to absorb carbon dioxide, forming a used sorbent. Hydrogen gas and steam are separated from the used sorbent and passed to a power generator such as a hydrogen turbine to produce power. The used sorbent is introduced into a calciner and heated to desorb carbon dioxide and form a regenerated sorbent which can be recycled to the compact hydrogen generator.
