Abstract: A structural arrangement for a vehicle includes a vehicle frame including an upper front rail, a frame rail, and a front hinge pillar, the frame rail extending parallel to a vehicle body axis and the front hinge pillar extending perpendicular to the vehicle body axis, the frame rail including a pulley, a load deflection system including a load member coupled to the upper front rail at a first attachment point, coupled to the frame rail at a detachable attachment point, and coupled to the front hinge pillar at a non-detachable attachment point such that the cable member extends generally longitudinally along the frame rail. The load member passes around the pulley from the first attachment point to the detachable attachment point and defines a load path between the upper front rail and the front hinge pillar utilizing the strength the frame rail.

Abstract: An airbag restraint system for a seat for an occupant located in a vehicle includes an airbag. The airbag includes an expandable body that is inflatable from a stowed position into a deployed position and the expandable body of the airbag restraint system is deflated and stored within a cavity defined by the seat back of the seat when the expandable body of the airbag is in the stowed position. The expandable body of the airbag surrounds a portion of a thorax of the occupant of the seat when the expandable body of the airbag restraint system is in the deployed position.

Abstract: A seat for a vehicle includes a frame defining opposing side members and an anti-submarining belt. The anti-submarining belt defines a first end portion, a second end portion, a stowed position, and a deployed position. The first end portion of the anti-submarining belt is fixedly attached to one of the opposing side members of the frame. The anti-submarining belt includes slack when in the stowed position and is pulled taut into the deployed position. The seat includes a seat cushion defining a compressed state and an uncompressed state. The seat cushion rests against anti-submarining belt and is in the uncompressed state when the anti-submarining belt is in the stowed position and is compressed into the compressed state by the anti-submarining belt as the anti-submarining belt is pulled taut into the deployed position. The seat includes a pretensioner connected to the second end portion of the anti-submarining belt.

Abstract: A system for a seat of a vehicle includes a seat cushion, a seat cover, and a valve. The seat cushion forms at least part of a bottom of the seat. The seat cover encloses the seat cushion and forming a barrier to airflow out of the seat cushion. The seat cover forms a top surface of the seat bottom, a bottom surface of the seat bottom, and side surfaces of the seat bottom. The valve extends through the seat cover and is configured to regulate airflow out of the seat cushion through the valve.
