Abstract: Vehicles and systems and methods for health monitoring drive unit bearings in vehicles are provided. A system for health monitoring a drive unit bearing in a vehicle includes a sensor mounted to a drive unit of the vehicle and configured to provide a vibration signal; and a processor configured to: pre-process the vibration signal from the sensor to enhance a fault signature and form a frequency domain signal; and process the frequency domain signal to estimate a health stage of the drive unit bearing.

Abstract: A bushing includes a hollow metal insert and a rubber element receiving the hollow cylindrical metal insert therein. The rubber element includes an inner snubber including a first plurality of ridges, a web portion extending from the inner snubber and looping back/folded to an outer snubber disposed outward of the inner snubber. The outer snubber includes a second plurality of ridges interleaved with the first plurality of ridges. A can having an outer wall receives the rubber element therein. A threaded stud extends through the hollow metal insert and includes a first end configured to be engaged with a component to be supported.

Abstract: A system and method for passively and actively monitoring and determining the location of at least one mechanical anomaly for a power steering system of a vehicle is disclosed. The system includes one or more processors and a memory coupled to the processors. The memory stores a baseline waveform and data comprising program code that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the system to receive at least one excitation signal and at least one response signal. The power steering system creates the response signal in response to receiving the excitation signal. In response to receiving the excitation signal and the response signal, the system is caused to estimate the frequency response between the excitation signal and the response signal based on a fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm. The frequency response is represented by an estimated waveform.
