Abstract: A system and method is provided for the operating system level management of screen content capture in a computing device. In response to invoking of screen capture functionality of the device, a screen capture user interface (UI) is generated. The screen capture UI provides for selection of a screen capture mode, including a screenshot mode providing for the capture of still image content, and a screen recording mode providing for the capture of moving image content, or video content, alone or together with audio content. The screen capture UI can also provide for the selection of a screen capture area, including selection of one of a full screen capture area, a tab or window screen capture area, or a custom screen capture area that can be set by the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described that include generating a content repository to store content items satisfying a recency condition. Abstract: The technology provides a holistic approach to note-taking on client computing devices. An embedded app is integrated with an operating system-level user interface of a client device. The approach leverages system UI-level access to user data, supporting functionality including providing context for notes. This may include tagging a current context in a note, such as to indicate what the user was doing when taking the note and/or other information relating to how the note was triggered. Context can provide suggestions associated with a task when a user is interacting with a particular app or other program. The technology enables users to take notes quickly within their current task flow, via a system level tool. It offers users the opportunity to quickly jot down a thought and process it at a later time, while offering operating system-level easy access and also capturing the context from interactions that inspire the note.
