    Abstract: A cable media converter (CMC) management method, including receiving, by a CMC controller by using a management channel, a second message packet sent by a CMC, where the second message packet has an identifier of the CMC and configuration file information of a cable modem (CM), and where the identifier of the CMC uniquely identifies the CMC, and determining, by the CMC controller according to a locally saved correspondence between an optical line terminal (OLT) and a CMC, an OLT corresponding to the CMC identified by the identifier in the second message packet, and sending the configuration file information in the second message packet to the determined OLT.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a multicast profile switching method. In the method, using a multicast profile management module, a multicast profile switching request message is received from a cable modem termination system CMTS. A multicast profile having a maximum rate and commonly supported by all current multicast group members is determined. When the multicast profile having the maximum rate is different from a current multicast profile that is running, a multicast profile switching instruction is sent to the CMTS, where the multicast profile switching instruction is used to instruct the CMTS to perform multicast profile switching.

    Abstract: This application provides a narrowband interference isolation method and a communication apparatus. An example method includes: determining a parameter of a narrowband interference signal; determining a coefficient of a first filter based on the parameter of the narrowband interference signal, wherein the first filter is located at a receive end of a master communication device, and the coefficient of the first filter is for filtering out the narrowband interference signal; and sending the parameter of the narrowband interference signal or the coefficient of the first filter to M slave communication devices using an Ethernet operation, administration, and maintenance (OAM) frame, wherein the master communication device is connected to the M slave communication devices, M≥1, and M is an integer.
