Abstract: A reforming system may include an engine; an intake line connected to the engine; an exhaust line connected to the engine; a reformer provided at an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) line diverging from the exhaust line and mixing the exhaust gas with fuel; a front end pressure sensor provided at the EGR line of the front end portion of the reformer and measuring pressure of the exhaust gas of the front end portion of the reformer; a rear end pressure sensor provided at the EGR line of the rear end portion of the reformer and measuring pressure of the exhaust gas of the rear end portion of the reformer; and a reforming controller configured for determining whether reforming continues on the basis of a pressure difference between the front end portion and the rear end portion of the reformer measured by the front end and the rear end sensors.

Abstract: A fuel reforming system is provided. The system includes an engine combusting reformed gas to generate mechanical power and an intake line connected with the engine to supply the reformed gas and air to the engine. An exhaust line is connected with the engine to circulate exhaust gas and a fuel reformer disposed at an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) line diverging from the exhaust line mixes the exhaust gas passing through the EGR line with fuel and reforms the mixed fuel. An exhaust gas purifying catalyst disposed at the exhaust line purifies nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gas. A temperature sensor at the exhaust line of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst measures temperature of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst. A bypass controller then operates a bypass valve to supply or cut off the exhaust gas into the fuel reformer according to temperature of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst.

In particular, the fuel reformer mixes the fuel with the EGR gas which is a part of the exhaust gas and passes through the EGR line, and reforms the fuel mixed in the EGR gas.

Abstract: A thermoelectric generator system of an engine is provided and includes an insulating heat protective cover that is mounted within an engine. Additionally, a unit is disposed at an upper end of the heat protective cover to uniformly distribute heat energy to use the heat protective cover mounted at an upper end of an exhaust manifold of the engine to protect a wiring from exhaust heat. Accordingly, heat energy discarded from the exhaust manifold is absorbed to generate electricity using the waste heat discarded from the exhaust manifold without affecting the catalyst to improve the fuel efficiency of the internal combustion engine. Further, heat is transferred by conduction at a particular temperature or greater and heat is transferred by radiation and convection at a temperature less than the particular temperature to increase the efficiency.

Abstract: A thermoelectric generation structure for a vehicle is provided. The structure includes an exhaust manifold into which exhaust gas is introduced and a cover that is disposed within the exhaust manifold and provided with a cooling water microchannel to perform cooling. A magnetic thermoelectric material is mounted between the cover and the exhaust manifold to generate electricity. Additionally, the magnetic thermoelectric material having an adjustable size and shape is used in the thermoelectric generation device by being mounted in the exhaust manifold of the vehicle to minimize the weight and volume to improve the marketability. The electricity is generated by the magnetic thermoelectric material using the spin seebeck phenomenon to improve the fuel efficiency.
