摘要: An electron emission display having a rear board and a front board is apt to cause electric discharge between scanning lines formed on the rear board and an anode formed on the front board. In the electron emission display, the rear board and the front board are each constituted by a flat board and are disposed so that the respective plane surfaces are opposed to each other. Scanning lines and data lines are formed on the plane surface of the rear board. The scanning lines each have an upper surface opposed to the front board and connecting surfaces adjacent to the upper surface and inclined at an angle of 15° to 75° relative to the upper surface. Since the scanning lines are each provided with such inclined connecting surfaces, it is possible to suppress electric discharge between the anode and the scanning lines.

摘要: A flat panel display device is provided which prevents color mixture of the phosphor surface thereof to promote high brightness and longer operation life.The flat panel display device is configured such that a front substrate 2 provided with the phosphor surface and a back substrate 1 provided with electron sources 10 arranged in a matrix manner are arranged to be opposed to each other via a support frame 3 and both the substrates 1, 2 and the support frame 3 are hermetically sealed. The electron source 10 has a triangular surface which faces the front substrate 2.

摘要: To provide an image display device including a lower electrode, an upper electrode, and an electron acceleration layer composed of an insulator or a semiconductor provided there between, and further including a thin film electron source array that emits electrons from the upper electrode, and a phosphor surface, wherein degradation of an electron emission characteristic caused by an increase of a work function due to an adhesive material to the above-described upper electrode is suppressed. An amount of S content adhering to the upper electrode is set equal to or less than 20 mol % of a total amount of elements used as the upper electrode in terms of elements by using an element belonging to Group VIII or Group Ib or a laminated film or alloy film thereof as a component of the upper electrode of the thin film electron source.

摘要: An image display device is disclosed in which poor display resulting from deflection of electron bundles which occurs due to electrification of spacers and secondary electron emission can be positively prevented and a high-quality display can be therefore obtained. In the image display device, electron sources in the vicinity of the spacers are displaced with respect to arranging positions at equal pitches, by distances which allow drifts of the electron bundles from phosphors, which are brought about by the deflection of the electron bundles which occurs due to electrification of the spacers and secondary electron emission, to be cancelled.

摘要: In an image display device, an opening area per unit area of opening portions formed in a BM film which is formed on an inner surface of a face substrate is set such that the opening area is gradually decreased from a center portion to a peripheral portion of an image display region. By preventing the generation of color mixing in a peripheral portion of an image display region attributed to the printing position displacement of phosphor film or missing of dots in the phosphor film in pixels, it is possible to provide the image display device which can enhance a yield rate and, at the same time, can acquire an image display of high color uniformity over the whole surface of the image display region.

摘要: A light source unit for an exposure unit is provided. The unit comprises a cylindrical light-emitting tube and a screen sleeve which has a slit in the circumferential direction and with which the tube is covered through water filled therebetween. According to the invention, the light source unit has the two opposite edges of the slit in the screen sleeve that are in the axial direction partly extended downward to the outer periphery of the light-emitting tube so that a flat exposure pattern is obtained that is small in the radial direction at the periphery of the surface to be exposed to light. Further, a more favorable effect can be obtained by the provision of an attenuating filter on the outer periphery of the screen sleeve for the purpose of shielding a part of the light from the light source in the axial direction.

摘要: The present invention achieves a desired white color temperature without deteriorating white uniformity and without lowering brightness in a field emission display (FED). A width of a green phosphor is set larger than a width of a red phosphor or a width of a blue phosphor and, at the same time, a distance between the center of the red phosphor and the center of the green phosphor is set larger than a distance between the center of the blue phosphor and the center of the red phosphor. Due to such a constitution, black matrix widths between the respective phosphors are set to a fixed value. Simultaneously, positions of electron sources are set in conformity with the positions of the respective phosphors. Due to such a constitution, it is possible to realize a desired white color temperature without deteriorating landing tolerance of electron beams or without lowering a utilization efficiency of a phosphor screen.
