摘要: A flat panel display device is provided which prevents color mixture of the phosphor surface thereof to promote high brightness and longer operation life.The flat panel display device is configured such that a front substrate 2 provided with the phosphor surface and a back substrate 1 provided with electron sources 10 arranged in a matrix manner are arranged to be opposed to each other via a support frame 3 and both the substrates 1, 2 and the support frame 3 are hermetically sealed. The electron source 10 has a triangular surface which faces the front substrate 2.

摘要: The present invention aims to form an electron emission film containing an alkali metal compound or the like without causing alkali attack on the metal wiring. An FED display device comprises: an electron source including an electron emission film 13 on the surface thereof; and metal wirings 17, 18 and the like for supplying a signal or the like to the electron source. After forming on the surface of the metal wiring 18 an corrosion resistant film 21 comprising a reactive film or adsorption film with phosphorus, an alkali metal or the like is coated onto or added into the electron emission film 13. The addition of phosphorus is made fewer than the chemical equivalent of the alkali metal salt. Such configuration can improve the electron emission efficiency of the electron source without the metal wiring being corroded by alkali metal or the like.

摘要: In a light emitting display device using electron emitter elements, it is possible to prevent lowering of image quality caused by spread of electron beams. MIM (Metal Insulator Metal) is used as the electron emitter elements and each of the electron emitter elements is surrounded by a conductive barrier (scanning wire). The electron emitter elements and the barriers are covered by upper electrodes so that the barriers and the surfaces of the electron emitter elements have the same electrical potential. The electron emitter elements and the barriers are formed on a cathode substrate. Color phosphors of R (red), G (green), and B (blue) are formed on an anode substrate at the side opposing to the cathode substrate. The color phosphors are excited by electron beams emitted from the electron emitter elements.

摘要: For inhibiting generation of pixels that could not be displayed in a line in a display screen of an electron emission display comprising the pixels each provided with an electron source in which a first electrode at a signal line side and a second electrode at a scanning line side are joined through an isolating layer (electron acceleration layer), the present invention cuts off continuity between the first electrode and the second electrode which are short-circuited caused by a defect, so that the electron source with the defect is isolated from other electron sources. In the electron source with a defect, for example, a portion of the second electrode surrounding the above-mentioned defect thereof is excised by laser.

摘要: A high-definition, high-quality, and high-contrast PDP that features high brightness, guaranteed long life, and stable driving, is provided by improving the time-dependent degradation of address discharge delay. The PDP includes: a front substrate having bus electrodes, and sustain discharge electrodes extending in a lateral direction of the bus electrodes to form display lines; a back substrate having address electrodes facing the sustain discharge electrodes in the lateral direction of the bus electrodes; and discharge cells formed between the substrates. Each of the discharge cells includes a sustain discharge cell and a priming discharge cell, in which a protruding electrode is formed to extend in a direction opposite to the discharge gap from the bus electrode, and a predetermined space is provided between the two cells to supply priming. The shape and size of the space are optimized so that the sustain discharge does not spread to the address discharge cell through the space.
