Abstract: An improved wearable drug delivery device and method for removal are provided. In some embodiments, a device may include a device body coupled to an adhesive layer, and a removal element coupled to the adhesive layer. The removal element may include an end section proximate a perimeter of the adhesive layer and a central section connected to the end section, wherein a force applied to the end section causes the central section to transition from a first configuration to a second configuration.

Abstract: A wearable drug delivery device that can deliver a liquid drug stored in a container to a patient is provided. The container can be a prefilled cartridge that can be loaded into the drug delivery device by the patient or that can be preloaded within the drug delivery device when provided to the patient. A sealed end of the container is pierced to couple the stored liquid drug to a needle conduit that is coupled to a needle insertion component that provides access to the patient. A drive system of the drug delivery device can expel the liquid drug from the cartridge to the patient through the needle conduit. The drive system can be controlled to provide the liquid drug to the patient in a single dose or over multiple doses.

Abstract: In exemplary embodiments, an on-body medical device has an adhesive layer with adhesives of two or more strengths. In some of the exemplary embodiments, a stronger adhesive is positioned on the adhesive layer where additional strength is needed, such as around the perimeter of the adhesive layer to prevent premature peeling. A weaker adhesive is positioned on other portions of the adhesive layer where there is no need for the strength of the stronger adhesive. In other exemplary embodiments, three strengths of adhesives are used on the adhesive layer. An intermediate strength adhesive is used along with a stronger adhesive and a weaker adhesive. The intermediate strength adhesive may be used in areas where the weaker adhesive does not provide enough strength but the full strength of the stronger adhesive is not needed.
