Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a substrate, an organic insulating layer provided over a display area which displays an image and a surrounding area located on an external side relative to the display area above the substrate, a lower electrode provided on the organic insulating layer in the display area, an organic layer provided on the lower electrode and including a light emitting layer, and an upper electrode provided on the organic layer. In the surrounding area, the organic insulating layer includes a removed portion and has a stepwise cross section in which a thickness decreases toward the removed portion.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a mother substrate includes panel portions, a margin portion, and a first partition provided in the margin portion. The first partition includes a first lower portion including an annular side surface, and a first upper portion provided on the first lower portion and including an annular protrusion which protrudes from the side surface. An inner circumferential portion includes, in plan view, a plurality of linear portions and a plurality of corner portions each connecting the adjacent two linear portions.
