    Abstract: A position detection method performed using a capacitive touch sensor with line electrodes two-dimensionally arranged. The method includes: acquiring first two-dimensional data indicating a first distribution of detection values of capacitance on the touch sensor; recognizing that a foreign object is present in an area on the touch sensor based on the first two-dimensional data; in response to the recognizing that the foreign object is present in the area on the touch sensor based on the first two-dimensional data, using a first threshold that is lower than a second threshold for detecting a first touch position or touch area inside of the area on the touch sensor in which the foreign object is present; and detecting the first touch position or touch area inside of the area on the touch sensor in which the foreign object is present based on the first two-dimensional data and the first threshold.

    Abstract: An electrode member includes a first electrode pattern and a second electrode pattern. In each of the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern, first end portion wires of the first thin metal wires form a pair across the insulation gap, and first end surfaces of the paired first end portion wires are located so as to include portions that face each other with a predetermined distance therebetween in a direction that intersects a first direction. In each of the first electrode pattern and the second electrode pattern, second end portion wires of the second thin metal wires form a pair across the insulation gap, and second end surfaces of the paired second end portion wires are located so as to include portions that face each other with a predetermined distance therebetween in a direction that intersects a second direction.

    Abstract: A capacitive biometric skin contact sensor configured to resolve the contours of skin in contact with the sensor, wherein the sensor comprises: a contact sensing area comprising an array of sensor pixels, wherein each sensor pixel comprises a thin film transistor and a capacitive sensing electrode connected to the thin film transistor; a plurality of gate drive channels, wherein each gate drive channel is arranged to provide a gate drive signal to one or more of the sensor pixels; a plurality of read-out channels, wherein each read-out channel is arranged to receive a read-out current from one or more of the sensor pixels, each read-out current being indicative of a proximity to a respective capacitive sensing electrode of a conductive object to be sensed; a current multiplexer connected to a plurality of the read-out channels to receive read-out currents therefrom; and an analog to digital converter configured to provide a digital signal based on said read-out currents; wherein the sensor is configured to control at least one of the current multiplexer and the ADC to switch between operation in a first sensing mode and a second sensing mode.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel including a first non-bending area, a bending area, and a second non-bending area, which are sequentially arranged in a first direction, and an input sensor including sensing electrodes and first and second trace lines. The first trace line includes a first line portion, a second line portion, and a first bridge connecting the first and second line portions and disposed on a layer different from the first and second line portions. The second trace line includes a third line portion, a fourth line portion disposed on a layer different from the third line portion, and a second bridge connecting the third and fourth line portions and disposed on a layer different from the third and fourth line portions. The first bridge and the second bridge do not overlap each other in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction.
