Abstract:
A squeegee device includes a profile strip equipped with a squeegee element that is freely movable transversely to a working surface. Profile strip bearing points engage loosely on pivot bearing guide surfaces transversely to the working surface to fix the pivot axis position. The profile strip is freely rotatable or pivotable in the pivot bearing, at least one part of the profile strip projecting over the working surface while being fixed to the profile strip bearing part, which is located in the vicinity of the squeegee device pivot axis. The squeegee device can be pressed against the working surface by its own weight or by a magnetic force exerted by a magnet device positioned below the working surface.
Abstract:
An apparatus for selectively individually or combinatively effecting a number of operations on a web of material has a multiplicity of units disposed around a counterroller or drum providing a surface against which the web can be pressed, one of these units being a squeegee roller unit pressing the web to a selected residual moisture content, another unit being a metering applicator unit and the apparatus having a trough through which the web is guided and at least one roller at least partially immersed in the trough.
Abstract:
A doctor for the application of fluent material to a substrate (8), such as a material web has a pressing part (3) extending in the longitudinal direction of the application apparatus (application width), which comprises a working edge (30) passing over the application width (7), an actuator on the pressing part (3) along the working edge (30) and movable by means of a magnetic field, comprising at least one electromagnet and/or permament magnet (20), which together with the pressing part (3) forms a pressing unit (4).
Abstract:
The doctor device has a profile member pivotally mounted to a retaining member that is carried on a mount. Vertical movement of the mount causes angular displacement of the profile member thereby changing the material applicaton area disposed adjacent and upstream of the doctor. The doctor is either a doctor blade or roll doctor. In the case of a roll doctor, a receptacle is formed in the profile member and the roll doctor is magnetically retained with the receptacle. During application of a material to an application surface with the roll doctor, the roll doctor is magnetically attracted to the application surface by a second magnetic device located beneath the application surface or work surface.
Abstract:
A squeegee device is used for applying materials of varying viscosities, such as coating substances, varnishes and adhesives to an application surface. The squeegee is pressed onto the application surface by a magnetic force. A profile member houses the squeegee and is pivotably supported by a bearing. The bearing allows the squeegee and profile member to be tiltable along an axis that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the squeegee or profile member in order to insure a tilting-free and bending-free adjustment of the squeegee on the application surface.
Abstract:
In a process and a device for the impregnating and/or coating application of liquid, optionally foamed substances, through a slot the parts of the device performing the application are arranged to form a surface almost plan-parallel to the surface of the sheet material to be subjected to the application so that the trailing end of the application device is supported by the sheet material. Between the application device and the surface to be coated, a hydraulic pressure is generated which floatingly supports the device and which has a uniformizing effect on the application layer.
Abstract:
A screen-printing or roller-printing machine in which magnetic force generates the printing force against a web, has a support member, e.g. a magnet beam or worktable, which provides the attractive force for a pressure member printing the pattern on the web. The support member has limited bending resistance, i.e. can flex readily and is supported from below by a separate structure thermally insulated therefrom so that bowing of the support member does not occur.
Abstract:
An arrangement on screen printing machines for interchangeable holding and lengthwise tensioning of rotary screens which have face-side end sections that can be connected to rotary holding sections. The holding sections are mounted on nonrotary bearing housings which are connected to at least one lengthwise carrier. The latter is located on the outside of the rotary screen, parallel to the screen axis, and fastened to the machine frame. The rotary holding sections enclose the nonrotary bearing housing peripherically from the outside. The bearing housings are connected to the lengthwise carrier by cross arms. The nonrotary bearing housing comprises a nonrotary hollow cylinder which projects beyond the rotary holding sections in axial, lenthwise, direction of the screen axis. The hollow cylinder, furthermore, may have at least two cylinder sections and a ring-shaped elastomer intermediate member located between the cylinder sections.
Abstract:
A squeegee roller rotates in contact with a surface to be treated. A sump of liquid or viscous material is upstream of the squeegee roller. A plate element has a seal in contact with the upstream side of the squeegee roller along the entire length thereof. A lowermost edge of the squeegee roller is spaced from the surface to be treated.
Abstract:
A process and apparatus is disclosed for cleaning a fluid substance from an application device with substance supply channels, and, if required, for cleaning a screen that surrounds the application device. The substance to be removed from the application device and, if required, from the screen, or a mixture of the substance and a cleaning fluid are forced away through the supply channels for the substance.
