Abstract:
Electrophotographic copying apparatus is disclosed having an elongated electrosensitive web defining a plurality of selectable image areas and having a plurality of perforations formed along an edge therein and movable along an endless path relative to a plurality of actuable work stations disposed along the path. The work stations are operative when actuated to perform a work operation on a selected image area of the web, respectively. The apparatus includes means disposed at a fixed location along the path for sensing the perforations to produce signals, a logic and control unit having a programmable computer with a stored program and responsive to such perforation signals for actuating the work stations in accordance with the program to cause the work stations to perform work operations on the web in timed relation to movement of selected image areas along the path respectively.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus with a sheet feeding capability to supply sheets of documents and/or copy paper to a rotatable scanning drum. Rollers advance these sheets on a sheet-by-sheet basis along the transport path which includes a plurality of sensors. The drum is positioned so as to receive the sheets prior to scanning and subsequently repositioned after scanning so as to permit these sheets to be removed from the drum.
Abstract:
For use with a copier/duplicator adapted to produce production runs having predetermined multiple copies of documents, priority interrupt apparatus which stops a first lower priority production run and stores in a memory the remaining number of copies of the first production run which has to be made plus other desired pertinent machine status information. The copier/duplicator then proceeds to produce higher priority production runs. After the higher priority runs are completed, the priority interrupt apparatus causes the copier/duplicator to complete the remaining copies of the first production run.
Abstract:
In a flash-on-the-fly, web-type copier, copy sheets fed to a transfer station are adjusted to align such sheets with transferable document images formed on the web to compensate for positional deviations of such document images from nominal or expected image positions.
Abstract:
Job stream programmer apparatus for use with a recirculating feeder and copier adapted to produce production runs of predetermined numbers of copies of single or multi-sheet documents, includes a first mechanism for receiving a plurality of multi-sheet documents and for moving them along a predetermined path which intersects the feeder, and a second mechanism for releasing a particular one of the received multi-sheet documents from the first document and inserting it into the feeder, which in turn, in accordance with job program instructions corresponding to the inserted document, feeds the sheets of the inserted document to the copier for copying.
