摘要： An apparatus for setting the lateral register of a printing unit of a rotary press that prints on a paper web includes a first bearing block configured as a locating bearing arranged on the drive side of a forme cylinder; and a second bearing block configured as a floating bearing on the operating side of the forme cylinder. A pressure medium operated operating cylinder displaces the first bearing block axially and presses it against an adjustable stop without play for the purpose of setting the lateral register. A controller controls the axial location of the adjustable stop in at least one of a closed-loop fashion and an open-loop fashion based on register deviations determined by a scanning optics unit.

摘要： In a web-fed rotary printing machine having a plurality of cylinders rolling on one another, each cylinder is driven by a respective drive motor, and a control device synchronizes the motors to run at the same speed. The control device has stored therein a control program which can be activated in the event of a web break. The control program has an emergency stop ramp which brakes the motors to a standstill by jerked stop, preferably within five revolutions, the program driving the motors along the stop ramp in the event of a web break.

摘要： A system for imaging printing forms includes a raster image processor breaking down a printing image data set into color separation data sets, a data storage medium for storing the color separation data sets generated by the raster image processor, the color separation data sets being printing location-nonspecific color separation data sets, and control devices and imaging devices. For the imaging of a printing form on the basis of one of the color separation data sets, each of the control devices drives one of the imaging devices to image the printing form in question. The system also includes a correction device integrated into each of the control devices to convert the printing location-nonspecific color separation data sets stored in the data storage medium into printing location-specific color separation data sets, which can be used to drive the imaging devices.

摘要： A method of cross-cutting a moving web uses a cutting knife operably mounted on a knife cylinder having a circumferential distance LZ where LZ is smaller than a cut length, LA. The knife cylinder for revolving in a first and a second opposite direction is powered by a drive motor in either direction. The method includes revolving the knife cylinder in a first direction, cutting the web with the cutting knife, and completing a first cut. The knife cylinder is then reversed to retard progress in the first direction and then accelerated to the speed of the moving web until starting the second cut.
