Abstract:
In a user interface apparatus, when a selected position of a to-be-processed image displayed on a display screen is detected through an area detecting unit, a menu display unit displays, in response to the detection of the selected position on the to-be-processed image, a link to at least one setting item being displayed in response to the selected position, the at least one setting item corresponding to a setting available for a setting area which corresponds to the selected position, where an order of display priority of the at least one setting item is determined by a size of the setting area. A determining unit determines that the setting item is specified, and an accepting unit accepts the setting corresponding to the setting item for the to-be-processed image. A preview display unit displays a preview indicating a result of processing the to-be-processed image based on the setting item.
Abstract:
A finished-image generating unit generates a finished image showing a result of a process performed on a target image according to various function setting items. A finished-image display unit, when the target image extends to a plurality of pages, forms the finished image in a stack, and displays the stacked finished image on a display unit with a page structure image that shows an overall page structure of the stacked finished image. A page moving unit, when one of the pages constituting the page structure image is specified via an operating unit, executes a page moving from a page currently displayed on the display unit to the specified page.
Abstract:
An image display device includes an analyzing section that analyzes the types of images contained in input image data, a dividing section that divides the image data into blocks based on the types of images, a display controlling section that displays the image data divided into the blocks on a touch panel, a specifying section that specifies a block as selected or non-selected block, and an editing section that edit a selected block in response to an edit request. The display controlling section displays an image edited by the editing section on a display screen.
Abstract:
The user interface is provided for the visually impaired to operate a multi-function devices. The user interface is based upon a combination of tactile sensation, tactile position, and sound. The tactile sensation includes the Braille expressions as well as any marker on a template. The tactile position includes the relative position of the user hand on a touch panel. In combination with the tactile sensation or tactile position, the sound interface offers additional information to help the operation of the multi-function machine.
Abstract:
An image finish information generation unit included in an image-forming system is configured to generate an expected image finish and an input setting screen to be used for receiving setting inputs from an operator based on image data obtained by reading a document by a scanner or through a network, and to instruct a display unit to display the image finish and the setting screen before print processing. If the operator makes further setting inputs through the input setting screen, another expected image finish screen is generated and displayed, incorporating the setting inputs. Through a spatial item identification unit and a language item identification unit, spatial position information received by a touch panel is identified as a spatial setting item, and voice information through a microphone is recognized by the language item identification as a language setting item. In addition, related setting items are prepared and displayed in a hierarchy.
Abstract:
An operation condition inputting system employing a tree state hierarchical menu is formed by classifying various operation conditions of an apparatus by at least one function and segmentalizing the at least one function into menu items to be optionally selected by a visually-impaired person.

Abstract:
An image processing unit executes an image process on a target image based on process-setting contents, and generates a processed image. An area extracting unit compares the processed image with the target image, and extracts a partial area of a predetermined size showing a notable effect of the image process executed on the target image, as a checking area. A checking-image display unit displays the processed image corresponding to the extracted checking area on a display unit, as a checking image for checking the process-setting contents of the image process.

Abstract:
In a user interface apparatus, when a position of a to-be-processed image displayed on a display screen is specified through an area specifying unit, a position detecting unit detects the position specified through the area specifying unit. A menu display unit displays at least one setting item associated with a setting area corresponding to the position. A determining unit determines that the setting item is specified, and an accepting unit accepts a setting corresponding to the setting item for the to-be-processed image. A preview display unit displays a preview indicating a result of processing the to-be-processed image based on the setting item.
