    摘要: A printing system is provided having interactive sample page preview and selection capabilities. An operator or user of a printing system, such as a xerographic copier, laser printer, or multi-function device, may visually confirm the print quality of pages printed by the system by requesting that a sample page, i.e., an extra copy of a page being printed within a print job, be printed and delivered to an alternate output tray for inspection. The present disclosure provides the ability to print the sample and show what was printed as a preview on the screen. The present disclosure additionally provides a preview of the sample page prior to its printing and delivery to an alternate tray. Based upon the previewed image, an operator may choose to print a sample page corresponding to that image, or choose another page. Additionally or alternatively, sample pages may be printed based on temporal criteria and system parameters.

    摘要: In a user interface apparatus, when a selected position of a to-be-processed image displayed on a display screen is detected through an area detecting unit, a menu display unit displays, in response to the detection of the selected position on the to-be-processed image, a link to at least one setting item being displayed in response to the selected position, the at least one setting item corresponding to a setting available for a setting area which corresponds to the selected position, where an order of display priority of the at least one setting item is determined by a size of the setting area. A determining unit determines that the setting item is specified, and an accepting unit accepts the setting corresponding to the setting item for the to-be-processed image. A preview display unit displays a preview indicating a result of processing the to-be-processed image based on the setting item.

    摘要: An adaptive print driver receives printing instructions relating to a document and outputs print data pages to an imager. The adaptive print driver includes a printing instruction parser for parsing printing instructions, a format controller for assigning a data format to the parsed print instructions and transferring the parsed print instructions according to the data format to a plurality of format generators. The plurality of format generators generates print data which is passed to a coalescer that coalesces the received print data into at least one print data page. The adaptive print driver uses a data format determination analysis process to balance rasterization on the adaptive print driver to achieve an optimal load balance between rasterization to take place on the adaptive print driver and rasterization to take place on the imager. The data format determination analysis considers the complexity of the document as well as information pertaining to the performance capabilities of the host, the performance capabilities of the imager, the load capacity of the host, and the load capacity of the imager, if such information is available. The present invention is also directed to a method for preparing a document for imaging on an imager.
