Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of polymerizing a polymer having an ester functional group, a catalyst for use in the method, and a composition for use in the method. More specifically, proposed is a method of depolymerizing a polymer having an ester functional group by using potassium carbonate (K2CO3) as a depolymerization catalyst and an alcohol and a polar aprotic solvent as solvents. In addition, a composition for depolymerizing a polymer having an ester functional group is proposed.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an extractant and an extraction method for removing color-expressing foreign substances from a colored polymer containing an ester functional group and a method for chemically selecting a polymer containing an ester functional group from a colored polymer mixture and, more specifically, to an extractant capable of effectively removing foreign substances, such as a dye and a pigment, from a colored polymer exhibiting a color by the foreign substances and containing an ester functional group, to a method for eluting most of color-expressing foreign substances by contact with a colored polymer containing an ester functional group while the extractant is maintained at a specific temperature range, and to a method of adding the extractant to a colored polymer mixture to selectively elute foreign substances from only a colored polymer containing an ester functional group and then effectively selecting, through color differentiation, a polymer having the foreign substances removed therefrom and containing an ester functional group.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a depolymerization method of a polymer comprising an ester functional group with or without pigments or dyes, a composition for the depolymerization, and a purification method for selectively separating foreign substances from a monomer of the polymer, and is characterized in that a compound represented by formula 1 is added as an additive. The depolymerization method according to the present disclosure enables depolymerization at low temperatures and may increase the yield of a target product. In addition, the purification method according to the present disclosure may remove foreign substances including pigments or dyes from a monomer of the polymer to prepare high-purity monomers.
