Abstract: The present invention relates to an extractant and an extraction method for removing color-expressing foreign substances from a colored polymer containing an ester functional group and a method for chemically selecting a polymer containing an ester functional group from a colored polymer mixture and, more specifically, to an extractant capable of effectively removing foreign substances, such as a dye and a pigment, from a colored polymer exhibiting a color by the foreign substances and containing an ester functional group, to a method for eluting most of color-expressing foreign substances by contact with a colored polymer containing an ester functional group while the extractant is maintained at a specific temperature range, and to a method of adding the extractant to a colored polymer mixture to selectively elute foreign substances from only a colored polymer containing an ester functional group and then effectively selecting, through color differentiation, a polymer having the foreign substances removed therefrom and containing an ester functional group.

Abstract: The invention refers to a method for producing expanded polymer pellets, which comprises the following steps: melting a polymer comprising a polyamide; adding at least one blowing agent; expanding the melt through at least one die for producing an expanded polymer; and pelletizing the expanded polymer. The invention further concerns polymer pellets produced with the method as well as their use, e.g. for the production of cushioning elements for sports apparel, such as for producing soles or parts of soles of sports shoes. A further aspect of the invention concerns a method for the manufacture of molded components, comprising loading pellets of an expanded to polymer material into a mold, and connecting the pellets by providing heat energy, wherein the expanded polymer material of the pellets or beads comprises a chain extender. The molded components may be used in broad ranges of application.

Abstract: Provided is a laminated film for a foldable display, the laminated film being free of occurrence of a fold mark or a crack at a folding portion thereof, in order to provide, for example, a foldable display excellent in mass productivity, and free of a risk of causing distortion in an image displayed at a folding portion thereof after being repeatedly folded. The laminated film for a foldable display includes: a polyester film having a thickness of from 10 μm to 100 μm; and an adhesive layer formed on at least one surface of the polyester film, wherein the polyester film satisfies the following conditions: (1) a refractive index in a bending direction is from 1.590 to 1.620; (2) a refractive index in a folding portion direction is from 1.670 to 1.700; (3) a refractive index in a thickness direction is 1.520 or less; and (4) a density is 1.380 g/cm3 or more, wherein the bending direction refers to a direction orthogonal to a folding portion of the polyester film at a time when the polyester film is folded.

Abstract: A method of producing thermoplastic particles may comprise: mixing a melt emulsion comprising (a) a continuous phase that comprises a carrier fluid having a polarity Hansen solubility parameter (dP) of about 7 MPa0.5 or less, (b) a dispersed phase that comprises a dispersing fluid having a dP of about 8 MPa0.5 or more, and (c) an inner phase that comprises a thermoplastic polyester at a temperature greater than a melting point or softening temperature of the thermoplastic polyester and at a shear rate sufficiently high to disperse the thermoplastic polyester in the dispersed phase; and cooling the melt emulsion to below the melting point or softening temperature of the thermoplastic polyester to form solidified particles comprising the thermoplastic polyester.
