摘要： A baseball or softball bat having improved restitution characteristic and preventing degraded hitting feeling caused by vibration or impact at the time of hitting can be provided. The baseball or softball bat including a ball hitting portion, a tapered portion and a grip portion is provided with an outer circumferential member, an inner circumferential member and a non-adhesive portion. The outer circumferential member is a cylindrical member forming at least the ball hitting portion. The inner circumferential member is arranged on the inner circumferential side of the outer circumferential member. The inner circumferential member has a tip end of the inner circumferential member positioned opposite to a taper side end as an end portion on the side of the tapered portion, fixed to the outer circumferential member. The non-adhesive portion is arranged, for preventing adhesion between the outer circumferential member and an unfixed portion of the inner circumferential member other than the tip end portion of the inner circumferential member and including the taper side end, at least on a portion of a region where the unfixed portion of the inner circumferential member and the outer circumferential member are opposite to each other.

摘要： A softball or baseball bat with modified restitution characteristic is provided. The bat can comprise a substantially rigid core coupled with a single or multi-piece sleeve. The core can comprise a tip end, a barrel taper, a handle taper, and a handle. The sleeve can slide over the handle portion and can be pressed, molded, or adhered to the barrel taper. The resilient sleeve can be sized and shaped such that the sleeve portion is substantially the same diameter as the tip end. The sleeve can comprise a material capable of impact absorption. The sleeve can have a composite structure with inner and outer sleeve components. The sleeve can further comprise a cone to taper the sleeve in the handle taper portion of the bat. The material and thickness of the sleeve and the core can be varied to meet applicable restitution requirements.

摘要： A device for introducing an embolic coil into a catheter comprises an elongated body defining a longitudinal passage extending therethrough from a first opening at a proximal end thereof to a second opening at a distal end thereof, the elongated body being including a mating portion for conforming to a size and shape of an opening in a hub of a catheter to mate therewith and an embolic coil introducer sheath including a coil receiving lumen extending therethrough, a distal tip of the introducer sheath being dimensioned to be received within a proximal end of the longitudinal passage.Similarly, a method of implanting an embolic coil, comprises inserting a stabilizer into a catheter hub so that a flexible mating portion substantially conforms to a shape of an inner surface of the hub wherein the stabilizer includes a passage extending therethrough from a proximal opening to a distal opening thereof. An introducer sheath including an embolic coil received in a lumen thereof is inserted into the proximal opening of the passage and through the passage to exit the distal opening thereof so that a distal opening of the lumen is positioned substantially adjacent to a proximal opening of a catheter and an embolic coil is advanced out of the distal opening of the lumen into the catheter and deployed in the body through the catheter.

The insert can be a single or multi-piece design and can be single or multi-layered. The insert can comprise a material capable of impact absorption. Portions of the insert can be separated from the shell with a separation layer to improve restitution in certain areas of the bat. The insert can also comprise multiple layers that are separated from each other with a separation layer to improve restitution in certain areas of the bat. The material and thickness of the insert and the shell can be varied to meet applicable restitution requirements.
