    摘要: There is provided an optical fiber end face cleaner which is easy to carry and make preparations for use, facilitates cleaning operation, and what is more, makes it possible to positively remove or clear away attached materials from end faces of optical fibers without causing any of the removed materials to adhere to the end faces again. The optical fiber end face cleaner includes at least one elastic base formed by an elastic member having a flat surface of a predetermined size, and a predetermined thickness in a direction perpendicular to the surface. An adhesive layer is formed on a surface of the elastic base, for allowing the end faces of the optical fibers to be pressed against the adhesive layer to cause deposits on the end faces to adhere to the adhesive layer for removal.

    摘要: In an optical connector, a holding member is coupled to a ferrule and attached to a housing. The ferrule has a flange portion brought into contact with the contact surface. The ferrule is adapted to receive an optical fiber. The housing has a contact surface and an engaging surface faced inward with respect to each other in an optical axis direction. The holding member includes a cylindrical main body for receiving the ferrule inserted therein, a first engaging portion connected to the main body and engaged with the engaging surface, and a second engaging portion connected to the main body and engaged with the flange portion, the second engaging portion being elastically deformable.

    摘要: For connecting an optical fiber having a fiber axis and an axial end portion provided with a chamfered surface having a predetermined angle with respect to the fiber axis, the optical connector includes an aligning member and a holding plate. The aligning member has a principal surface and a side surface adjacent to the principal surface. The aligning member has a fiber-receiving groove for receiving the axial end portion of the optical fiber. The fiber-receiving groove extends along the principal surface in a predetermined direction and has end portions each opening on the side surface. The holding plate is faced to the principal surface and covers the fiber-receiving groove. The holding plate has a first slant surface beside one of end portions of the fiber-receiving groove. The first slant surface has an angle with respect to the principal surface. The first angle is determined smaller than the predetermined angle.

    摘要: An optical connector includes a housing including a coupling portion for coupling another optical connector and a blocking component for blocking an optical axis arranged in the coupling portion. The blocking component has a shutter plate blocking the optical axis and being pivotably supported by the housing with a pivot shaft and an elastic portion for normally biasing the shutter plate to a closed position. The shutter plate pivots between a position blocking the optical axis and a position to which the shutter plate is forced to move by the other optical connector when the other optical connector is inserted into the optical connector.
