Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a powder composition containing an alkaline material comprising hydroxide-containing compounds, a starch, a silica material, a liquid fatty substance, an acrylic polymer, wax, and a chelant compound. When the powder composition is mixed with an aqueous composition, a ready to use composition for relaxing or straightening hair is formed.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a powder composition containing an alkaline material comprising hydroxide-containing compounds, two carbonate compounds, a starch, a silica material, a liquid fatty substance, an acrylic polymer, a sulfur-containing compound, and a chelant compound. When the powder composition is mixed with an aqueous composition, a ready to use composition for removing or depilating hair is formed.
Abstract:
Disclosed are hair color bases, hair color compositions, and methods for altering the color of hair. Hair color bases comprise a buffer system including ammonium chloride, sodium metasilicate, ammonium hydroxide, and monoethanolamine (MEA). Hair color compositions comprise a hair base comprising a buffer system including ammonium chloride, sodium metasilicate, ammonium hydroxide, and monoethanolamine (MEA), and an oxidizing component.
Abstract:
Disclosed is color base composition for coloring keratin fibers comprising: at least two latex polymers independently selected from acrylate latex polymers and polyurethane latex polymers; at least one alkalizing agent; at least one oxidative dye precursor; at least one organic solvent; and water; wherein the at least two latex polymers are partially or fully neutralized; and wherein the at least two latex polymers are present in a combined amount ranging from about 0.2% to about 2.5% by weight, relative to the weight of the composition.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a composition for relaxing or straightening hair containing an alkaline material comprising hydroxide-containing compounds, a crosslinked copolymer of (meth)acrylic acid and/or (C1-C6)alkyl esters selected from a crosslinked (meth)acrylic acid/ethyl acrylate copolymer and a cross-linked anionic acrylate polymer, a cosmetically acceptable solvent, and optionally, thickening agents and surfactants. The compositions of the invention may be in the form of a gel that is clear in appearance or may be in the form of an emulsion when the compositions additionally contain a liquid fatty substance.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to hair care compositions such as hair treatment compositions and hair lightening compositions, methods for treating hair (e.g., lightening hair), and to kits comprising the compositions. The components of the hair treatment compositions may be included in hair lightening compositions and used to lighten and/or color hair. The hair treatment compositions typically include: (a) one or more polycarboxylic acids, and/or a salt thereof; (b) one or more amino acids, and/or a salt thereof; and optionally (c) one or more cationic conditioning agents. The hair lightening compositions further include (d) one or more bleaching agents.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are compositions and methods for altering the color of hair comprising a first mixture comprising from about 1% to about 50% of at least one starch, from about 1% to about 50% of at least one liquid fatty substance and from about 0.5% to about 40% of at least one silica material, and a second mixture comprising from about 1% to about 40% of at least one oxidizing agent, from about 0.5% to about 30% of at least one acrylic polymer and from about 0.1% to about 10% of at least one chelant compound.
