A display apparatus includes a display panel including pixels arranged along a plurality of horizontal lines; a data driving portion converting image data of the pixels into data voltages; a frame memory receiving and storing the image data of a refresh frame; and a data processing portion receiving and image quality-processing the image data stored in the frame memory in a unit of one horizontal line, and transmitting the image quality-processed image data to the data driving portion and the frame memory; wherein the frame memory updates and stores the image quality-processed horizontal line image data into a corresponding horizontal line therein, and wherein image data of a nth refresh frame updated in the frame memory are transmitted to the data driving portion in a unit of one horizontal line when an image of a n+1th refresh frame is identical to an image of the nth refresh frame.

A power supply includes a boost circuit having a first boost circuit configured to output a first driving voltage to be supplied to the display panel by stepping unit an input voltage and a second boost circuit configured to output a second driving voltage to be supplied to the display panel by stepping down the input voltage, and a correction circuit configured to output a correction signal based on a result obtained by sensing the input voltage, and controls output efficiency of the boost circuit based on the input voltage and current sensed from the display panel.

The display device includes a gate driving circuit generating the gate signal using a gate control signal. The display device includes a data driving circuit generating the data signal using a data control signal and an image dataApplication. The display device includes a timing controlling circuit generating the gate control signal, the data control signal, and the image data using an image signal and a plurality of timing signals. The timing controlling circuit is further configured to transmit the gate control signal, the data control signal, and the image data with a variable refresh rate profile different based on a temperature.
Abstract:
A driving circuit for a display device, for reducing power consumption of a data driver, and a method of driving the driving circuit are disclosed. The driving circuit includes a data driver for maintaining buffers of the data driver in an on state every preset specific frame period and maintaining the buffers in an off state every remaining period except for specific frame periods in a refresh mode for processing image data of one image for the specific frame periods only.
