The present disclosure provides a backplate including a first plate coupled to the rear surface of a flexible display panel, a second plate disposed opposite the first plate while being spaced apart therefrom, and an elastic part disposed between the first plate and the second plate and configured to resiliently change a distance between the first plate and the second plate. The present disclosure further provides a rollable display device including a flexible display panel, a backplate coupled to the rear surface of the flexible display panel, and a case accommodating a roller configured to roll or unroll the flexible display panel and the backplate together and having therein an entrance through which the flexible display panel and the backplate are introduced into or drawn out of the case. When the flexible display panel and the backplate are rolled around the roller, the backplate is gradually reduced in thickness.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a rollable display, which prevents slippage between a flexible display panel and a back plate attached to the flexible display panel for supporting the same. The rollable display has a feature in different patterns of the back plate for each area. In addition, the rollable display has a feature in that a display unit is foldable and non-foldable via a link unit so as not to be folded or rolled multiple times in the same direction.
Abstract:
A patterned adhesive can prevent detachment and easily return to an original state even during repeated folding operations, and a flexible display including the same are discussed. The patterned adhesive includes a patterned adhesive layer so that it can easily return to an original state by formation of a plurality of neutral planes upon compression and extension through a folding operation.

Disclosed are a curved display device and a driving method thereof. The curved display device includes a flexible display panel, a bottom cover serving as a rear surface casing for the display panel, and at least one curvature control unit disposed on a rear surface of the bottom cover to control curvature of the bottom cover by applying tensile force to the rear surface of the bottom cover in a longitudinal direction of the bottom cover. The bottom cover is formed of a corrugated board including an intermediate layer provided with ridges, a first cover layer serving as a coating for an upper surface of the intermediate layer, and a second cover layer serving as a coating for a lower surface of the intermediate layer. The first cover layer has an opening configured to expose the intermediate layer to correspond to the curvature control unit.
