摘要: There is described a foamed isocyanate-based polymer derived from a reaction mixture comprising: an isocyanate; a polyol composition comprising a first prescribed amount of polymer particles dispersed in a base polyol; a second prescribed amount of biomass-based carbonaceous particulate material; and a blowing agent. In one embodiment, the foamed isocyanate-based polymer having an Indentation Force Deflection when measured pursuant to ASTM D3574-11 which is within about 15% as that of a reference foam produced by omitting the biomass-based carbonaceous particulate material from the reaction mixture and increasing the amount of polymer particles in the polymer polyol composition to equal the sum of the first prescribed amount and the second prescribed amount. In another embodiment, the foamed polymer has a cellular matrix comprising a plurality of interconnected struts, the biomass-based carbonaceous particulate material conferring to the cellular matrix a load efficiency of at least about 5 Newtons/weight % of biomass-based carbonaceous particulate material. A process to produce the foamed isocyanate-based polymer is also described. A polyol-based dispersion to produce the foamed isocyanate-based polymer is also described. It has been discovered that a relatively expensive petroleum-based copolymer polyol can be fully substituted by a relative inexpensive bio-based (amorphous carbon) dispersion with no significant compromise in important physical properties in the resulting polyurethane foam.

摘要: The present invention provides a novel polycarbonate diol and a polyurethane using the polycarbonate diol as raw materials. The novel polycarbonate diol produces polycarbonate diol-based polyurethane which has a high degree of hardness, superior abrasion resistance, and superior hydrophilicity, and is usable for an application such as a paint, a coating agent, a synthetic leather, an artificial leather, and a highly-functional elastomers, or the like. The present invention also provides an active-energy radiation curable polymer composition giving a cured film having a superior contamination resistance and high degree of hardness. The present invention is obtained, for example, by reacting specific two types of diols with diester carbonate in the presence of a transesterification catalyst being a compound using a metal of Group 1 or 2 on the periodic table. The present invention provides a polycarbonate diol wherein the metal content of the transesterification catalyst is 100 weight ppm or less, a polyurethane obtainable by using this polycarbonate diol and an active-energy radiation curable polymer composition containing the urethane(meth)acrylate oligomer which is obtained from the polycarbonate diol.

摘要: Polyurethane foams are made by curing a reaction mixture that contains an aromatic polyisocyanate, at least one isocyanate-reactive material having an average functionality of at least 2 and an equivalent weight of at least 200 per isocyanate-reactive group, at least one blowing agent, at least one surfactant and at least one catalyst, at least one acetoacetate ester or amide and at least one aminoalcohol or alkylhydroxylamine. Foams so produced emit low levels of formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and propionaldehyde.

摘要: The present application discloses polyurethane or polyurethane-urea compositions with enhanced low temperature performance that includes a reaction product of: at least one diisocyanate and at least one block copolymer of A-B-A type that has an average number molecular weight of 2500-5000 g/mol, wherein the reaction product is formed in the absence of a plasticizer by reacting the reactants in an NCO:OH molar ratio of 0.9:1-2:1. The block copolymer being the reaction product of (i) a poly(tetrahydrofuran) diol in an amount of 40-70 wt % of the total molecular weight of the block copolymer, wherein the tetrahydrofuran is optionally substituted and (ii) a cyclic lactone and/or cyclic ether in an amount of 30-60 wt % of the total molecular weight of the block copolymer. The present disclosure further discloses the reaction further comprising a diol or a diamine chain extender, and compositions comprising the polyurethane or polyurethane-urea composition of the present disclosure.
