Abstract: A driving tool includes a piston configured to move in a driving direction due to gas pressure, and a driver configured to move integrally with the piston to strike a fastener. The driver includes a plurality of rack teeth formed along a driving direction. The driving tool includes a wheel having a plurality of engaging portions to engage the plurality of rack teeth at its outer circumference. The driver is moved in a counter-driving direction as the wheel rotates. The plurality of engaging portions of the wheel includes at least one advancing/retracting engaging portion configured to move with respect to a shaft member of the wheel. The driver has a tooth groove between adjacent rack teeth of the plurality of rack teeth. One tooth groove is configured to receive the advancing/retracting engaging portion and has a depth deeper than at least one other tooth groove.

Abstract: A driving tool includes a piston, a driver, and a lift mechanism. The piston moves in a driving direction by a pressure of a gas. The driver extends from the piston and includes a plurality of engaged portions. The lift mechanism moves the driver in a direction opposite to the driving direction. The lift mechanism includes a rotation shaft, a wheel, a plurality of engaging portions, and a supporting member. The wheel rotates integrally with the rotation shaft. Each of the plurality of engaging portions may engage an engaged portion. The supporting member supports the wheel so the wheel is allowed to move between an initial position and an eccentric position in a radial direction of the rotation shaft.

Abstract: When a driving piston starts moving upward toward its top dead center or starts moving downward, a second engaging portion engageable with a second rack of a driver is configured to receive a force. The second engaging portion of a second wheel is provided with high strength and wear resistance. Because of this configuration, a cost of production and maintenance replacement parts can be reduced, in comparison with a case where a total mechanism, including first engaging portions of a first wheel, is provided with high strength and wear resistance.

Abstract: A driving tool comprises a displacement allowing mechanism that allows a wheel to be displaced in a radial direction of a rotation shaft. The driving tool further comprises a displacement restricting mechanism that restricts the wheel from being displaced in the radial direction of the rotation shaft. When a driver is to start being moved upwards by an engagement of a first engagement portion with an engaged portion by rotation of the wheel, a displacement restriction state of the wheel caused by the displacement restricting mechanism is released, allowing an entirety of the wheel to be displaceable in the radial direction of the rotation shaft due to the displacement allowing mechanism.

Abstract: In a driving tool, during and/or after a driving operation has been completed, a restriction member is retained in an on-position by a cam. An energizing switch is retained in an on-state by an actuation portion of the restriction member. Because of this configuration, if a trigger is released during and/or after the driving operation has been completed, an electric motor continues to be activated, which causes a driver to return to a standby position.

Abstract: A driving tool includes a driver for driving a driving material and an elastic material for biasing the driver downward. The driving tool includes a lifter that is rotated by an electric motor. The lifter moves the driver to a top dead center against a biasing force of the elastic material. The driver includes a plurality of linearly arranged engaging teeth. The lifter includes a plurality of peripherally arranged engaging pins that are engageable with the plurality of engaging teeth. The lifter also includes a wheel that comprises a plurality of peripherally arranged pin supporting holes, each of which holds an end of the corresponding engaging pin. The lifter includes a grease groove and a recessed grease reservoir adjacent to the grease groove. The grease groove is formed in a pin supporting hole, such that the grease groove extends in a pin supporting hole extending direction.
