    Abstract: A method for enabling full duplex individual calls in repeater mode between two subscriber units (SUs) in a N:1 slotting ratio time division multiple access (TDMA) radio system includes receiving a request for a full duplex individual call from a first SU identifying a second SU as a target of the call. Determining to grant the request and subsequently assigning a first time slot of the N time slots on a first single frequency for one of inbound and outbound transmissions for the call between an assigned second repeater and the first SU and a second time slot on the first single frequency for the other of inbound and outbound transmissions for the call between the assigned second repeater and the first SU. Further, a grant message is transmitted to the first SU indicating the assigned first single frequency and assigned first and second time slots.

    Abstract: Base station device with reduced power consumption and method thereof. The base station device includes a transmitter configured to implement time-division multiple access (TDMA). The transmitter transmits payload signals in a TDMA frame including a first timeslot and a second timeslot, with one of the first timeslot and the second timeslot designated as an active timeslot and the other of the first timeslot and the second timeslot designated as an idle timeslot. The base station device includes an electronic processor coupled to the transmitter and configured to control transmission of calls through the transmitter. The electronic processor is configured to transmit payload signals during the active timeslot and de-key the transmitter during the idle timeslot. During a voice call, the electronic processor is configured to re-kay the transmitter during a portion of the idle timeslot to transmit synchronization information.

One example method for operating a portable communication device includes receiving a transmit request, and, responsive to receiving the transmit request, transmitting a single transmit burst including a source identifier identifying the portable communications device and starting an enhanced channel access timer.     Abstract: A method and server provide for routing traffic to user equipment in a talkgroup. The server receives a request for a new talkgroup call for a talkgroup. The server determines a total number of device targets for the talkgroup call. When the total number of device targets for the new talkgroup call is greater than a predetermined total target threshold number, a call grant for the new talkgroup call is routed to each device target for the talkgroup via a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) network. When the total number of device targets for the new talkgroup call is less than the predetermined total target threshold number, the call grant for the new talkgroup call is routed to each device target for the talkgroup via a preferred network for each device target.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are described for managing a mass registration scenario in a two-way radio system. A site controller in a trunked radio system detects a mass registration condition in which registration requests by subscriber units are likely to collide on an inbound control channel. During the mass registration condition, the site controller initiates a restriction period by instructing subscriber units that are members of particular talkgroups to temporarily cease registration requests. Those talkgroup members are permitted to resume their registration requests when a predetermined delay time has passed since the members were instructed to cease registration, or when a particular silence time has passed without registration activity over the control channel.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for intelligent interference mitigation for time division multiplexing broadband networks. One example embodiments of a wireless base station includes an electronic processor and a transceiver coupled to the electronic processor. The electronic processor is configured to operate to communicate wirelessly via the transceiver with subscriber units utilizing time division duplexing (TDD) and a first frame configuration, and characterize each of a plurality of sub-frames of the first frame configuration as being either conflicting or non-conflicting.     Abstract: Systems and methods for intelligent interference mitigation for time division multiplexing broadband networks. One example embodiments of a wireless base station includes an electronic processor and a transceiver coupled to the electronic processor.
