Then, in a case where it is determined that the proximate object is the human skin, the control unit 25 switches an electric circuit set in a first state to a second state that is different from the first state. The present invention can be applied, for example, to a skin sensor that detects whether or not the proximal object is the human skin, an electronic device provided with the skin sensor, and the like.
