Abstract:
A method and medical monitoring device for determining the occurrence of a premature ventricular contraction that includes sensing a cardiac signal and determining R-waves in response to the sensed cardiac signal, determining RR intervals between the determined R-waves, determining whether a first interval criteria is satisfied in response to the determined intervals, determining a correlation between the determined R-waves, determining whether a first correlation criteria is satisfied in response to the determined correlation, and determining the premature ventricular contraction is occurring in response to the first interval criteria and the first correlation criteria being satisfied.
Abstract:
An implantable medical device is configured to determine a first atrial arrhythmia score from ventricular events sensed by a sensing circuit of an implantable medical device and determine a second atrial arrhythmia score from an intraventricular signal comprising atrial mechanical event signals attendant to atrial systole and produced by a sensor of the implantable medical device. An atrial arrhythmia is detected based on the first atrial arrhythmia score and the second atrial arrhythmia score.

Abstract:
Techniques and devices for implementing the techniques for adjusting atrial arrhythmia detection based on analysis of one or more P-wave sensing windows associated with one or more R-waves. An implantable medical device may determine signal characteristics of the cardiac signal within the P-wave sensing window, determine whether the cardiac signal within the sensing window corresponds to a P-wave based on the determined signal characteristics, determine a signal to noise ratio of the cardiac signal within the sensing window, update the arrhythmia score when the P wave is identified in the sensing window and the determined signal to noise ratio satisfies a signal to noise threshold.
