Abstract: [Object] An object of the present technology to provide a diagnosing apparatus capable of providing, more accurately and simply, information for determining at least one item selected from the group consisting of a type of an illness that has developed in a subject, and a state of progress of the illness that has developed in the subject. Another object of the present technology is to provide an analysis method.
[Solving Means] There is provided a diagnosing apparatus including: a cell into which a sample solution including collected body fluid is introduced; at least two electrodes that are disposed in the cell and come into contact with the sample solution; a voltage applying unit that applies a voltage between the electrodes; a measuring unit that measures an electrochemical response when the voltage is applied; a storage unit that stores a reference; and an analysis output unit that compares a numerical value obtained from the response with the reference, and provides information for determining at least one item selected from the group consisting of a type of an illness that has developed in a subject, and a state of progress of the illness that has developed in the subject.

Abstract: The in vitro diagnostic method for periodontal disease of the present invention includes bringing a sample derived from an oral cavity of a subject into contact with an electrode to perform electrochemical measurement in the presence of a glucogenic amino acid and an electron mediator under an anaerobic environment and providing information for judging that periodontal disease is progressing in the oral cavity of the subject when current generation is detected as a result of the electrochemical measurement. According to the in vitro diagnostic method for periodontal disease of the present invention, it is possible to provide information for judging the progress of periodontal disease by simple operation.
