Abstract: A method and apparatus may include configuring, by a base station, a synchronization signal. The synchronization signal may be aligned with a sub carrier spacing grid of a radio access technology. The synchronization signal may be positioned at a frequency location that is the same or about the same as a frequency step of a channel raster. The synchronization signal may be transmitted to a user equipment so that the center of the synchronization signal is transmitted with a frequency offset with respect to the center of the radio-access technology bandwidth.

Abstract: There is provided method comprising: transmitting by a first entity a first carrier signal of a plurality of carrier signals, the first carrier signal being centered at a first frequency offset from a first channel raster point by an amount which is greater than 0 and less than a first threshold, wherein a second carrier signal is adjacent the first carrier signal and centered at a second frequency at or within a second threshold of a second channel raster, both the first carrier signal and the second carrier signal comprising a plurality of subcarriers of a defined bandwidth, and the first frequency and the second frequency differ by an amount substantially equal to a multiple of the defined bandwidth.

Abstract: Frequency domain compression of fronthaul interface for transporting frequency domain data over Ethernet includes applying Inverse Discrete Fourier Transform to frequency domain data contained in a frequency bandwidth to generate a time domain output signal in a time domain. The time domain output signal is compressed to generate a compressed time domain output signal. The compressed time domain output signal is transmitted over a fronthaul interface to a remote unit. The compressed time domain output signal is decompressable at the remote unit to generate a decompressed time domain output signal. Discreet Fourier Transform is applied to the decompressed time domain output signal at the remote unit to recover the frequency domain data.
