    Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer program is described comprising: obtaining time domain samples of a received radio frequency signal of a mobile communication system, wherein the radio frequency signal comprises a Physical Random Access Channel; determining an estimated power distribution for the time domain samples; determining a filtering threshold value at which a time domain sample is deemed to be due to interference, based on a defined probability level of the estimated power distribution; defining a filtering mask based on the time domain samples and the filtering threshold; and applying the filtering mask to the time domain samples to generate a filtered signal samples, wherein the filtering mask is configured to attenuate time domain samples that are above the filtering threshold.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for compensating phase noise. A symbol comprising one or more data sub-symbols and one or more pilot sub-symbols is received (501). A sequence of first phase noise estimates is obtained (502) based at least partly on the one or more pilot sub-symbols. A first filter is used to obtain (503, 507) a first sequence of filtered phase noise estimates from at least a subset of the one or more data sub-symbols based at least partly on the sequence of first phase noise estimates. The first sequence of filtered phase noise estimates is stored (506, 510). Phase noise compensation is applied (512) to the one or more data sub-symbols based at least partly on the first sequence of filtered phase noise estimates.

    Abstract: An inter-carrier interference method comprises: receiving one or more OFDM signal comprising plural blocks of OFDM subcarriers of a first type and plural blocks of OFDM subcarriers of a second type, wherein the frequencies of the subcarriers of each block of OFDM subcarriers of the first type are contiguous and wherein the plural blocks of subcarriers of the first type are distributed amongst the plural blocks of subcarriers of the second type; for each of the plural blocks of subcarriers of the first type, estimating inter-carrier interference components; estimating inter-carrier interference components for the subcarriers of the second type using the inter-carrier interference components estimated for the plural blocks of subcarriers of the first type; and compensating for inter-carrier interference in the plural blocks of subcarriers of the second type using the inter-carrier interference components estimated for the sub-carriers of the second type, thereby to generate plural compensated blocks of subcarriers of the second type.

    Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided a waveform processing device. Said waveform processing device comprises means for performing the following. Upon receiving one or more input signals, each of which corresponds to a different subband, the waveform processing device segments each of the one or more input signals to a subband-specific set of parallel signal blocks. Then, the waveform processing device filters each subband-specific set by applying at least a first time window function, a transform-plane window function and a second time window function in this order. Finally, the waveform processing device concatenates filtered signals to an output signal.
