    Abstract: An assembly method includes: inserting a resin pad including a pad body having a recessed portion, and a thick portion provided at a distal end portion of the recessed portion into a welding unit including a sheath and tape second gripping member assembled to the sheath along a groove provided in the second gripping member in a state where the recessed portion faces a first gripping member; inserting the ultrasonic probe into the welding unit; and forming a distal end of the resin pad into a claw shape by pressing the first gripping member against the thick portion by bringing the second gripping member and the first gripping member close to each other to form a depression having an inner surface shape complementary to an outer surface shape of the first gripping member at the thick portion.

    Abstract: A grasping treatment instrument includes a holder openable and closable relative to a treatment section. A pad extends straight in a natural state, and is attached along an installation surface of the holder. A holder inclined surface is provided on the installation surface, and inclines in a state that the holder inclined surface extends toward a treatment section side as extending toward a distal side. A pad inclined surface is formed in the pad attached to the holder, and is formed in a state that the pad inclined surface is elastically deformed along an inclination of the holder inclined surface. The pad inclined surface inclines in a state that the pad inclined surface extends toward the treatment section side as extending toward the distal side.

    Abstract: A gripping unit includes a supporting section in which at least its entire surface is made of an insulating material, and a swing section swingable about a swing axis relative to the supporting section. The swing section includes a jaw-side facing surface opposed to a treatment section, and a jaw-side electrode section functioning as an electrode when high-frequency energy is transmitted. The support member covers the swing section from a distal direction, both of width directions, and an open direction of the jaw, and the swing section is externally exposed only on the jaw-side facing surface.

    Abstract: The grasping treatment instrument includes a jaw including first and second rims and a recess with a bottom surface, and a grasping member with a ridge. When the grasping member is positioned at a first position, a component of the ridge between a second rotary axis and a distal end of the ridge protrudes to the opposite side from the bottom surface of the recess with respect to the first and second rims. When the grasping member is positioned at a second position, a component of the ridge between the second rotary axis and a proximal end of the ridge protrudes to the opposite side from the bottom surface of the recess with respect to the first and second rims.
