摘要: A modular shaft assembly is disclosed. The modular shaft assembly includes one or more inputs configured to receive input motions from a surgical instrument system, such as a handle, for example. The shaft assembly further includes one or more on-board inputs configured to generate input motions. The input motions received and generated by the shaft assembly are transferrable to an end effector of the shaft assembly to perform various functions at the end effector. The end effector can include a staple cartridge and a firing member which is movable between a proximal position and a distal position to eject staples from the staple cartridge. The end effector can include a plurality of jaw members and the firing member can comprise camming members which are configured to position the jaw members relative to one another.

摘要: A surgical instrument for treating the tissue of a patient is disclosed. The surgical instrument comprises a housing including a handle, a housing frame comprising a housing connector, and a drive system comprising at least one electric motor. The surgical instrument further comprises a shaft assembly releasably assembled to the housing including a shaft frame comprising a proximal connector and a distal connector, wherein the proximal connector is releasably coupled to the housing connector and a shaft drive system comprising at least one rotatable shaft operably coupled to the electric motor. The surgical instrument further comprises an end effector releasably assembled to the shaft assembly including an end effector frame comprising an end effector connector releasably coupled to the distal connector of the shaft assembly, a plurality of staple cartridges removably stored in the end effector, and a plurality of end effector drivers operably coupled to the rotatable shaft.

摘要: A surgical system having a surgical instrument having a connection portion including a connector connectable to a robot arm for mounting of the surgical instrument to the robot arm so that the instrument can be robotically manipulated by the robot arm to adjust a position of the instrument via a first communication from a remote central processing unit to the robot arm. A remotely actuated power pack is loadable into a compartment of the instrument for powering the instrument. The power pack has a first motor and a first engagement member operatively connected to the first motor and removably engageable with a first movable member of the instrument when the power pack is loaded into the instrument, the power pack effecting movement of the first movable member from a first position to a second position to effect a first function of the instrument.

摘要: A surgical instrument includes a decoupling mechanism and a loading unit. The decoupling mechanism includes a driver coupling, an overstroke sled, a proximal driver, and a distal driver. The overstroke sled includes bosses configured to slidably engage slots of the driver coupling. The distal driver is coupled to a housing of the driver coupling for concomitant rotation therewith. A drive assembly of the loading unit is coupled to the distal driver such that rotation of the distal driver causes axial displacement of the drive assembly. The decoupling mechanism is transitionable between a first state, in which, rotation of the proximal driver of the decoupling mechanism rotates the driver coupling and the distal driver, thereby advancing the drive assembly, and a second state, in which, rotation of the proximal driver disengages the overstroke sled from the driver coupling to enable rotation of the overstroke sled relative to the driver coupling.

The second shaft hosts a second roller and a second set of teeth. The second jaw moves relative to the first jaw between an open position and a closed position. The first set of teeth meshes with the second set of teeth when the second jaw is in the closed position such that (a) the first set of teeth can drive the second set of teeth and (b) the first roller and the second roller can drive a needle therebetween when the first set of teeth drives the second set of teeth.

摘要: A forceps having at least a first jaw with a longitudinal axis is disclosed. The first jaw can include a body portion, a first flange, a second flange and a cam pin. The first flange can define a first cam slot with a longitudinal extent along the longitudinal axis. The second flange can be spaced from the first flange a distance transverse to the longitudinal axis of the first jaw and can have a second cam slot. The cam pin, with a longitudinal axis, can be moveably secured within the first cam slot and the second cam slot. A diameter of the cam pin can be less than a width between a first longitudinal edge that defines a first side of each of the first cam slot and the second cam slot and a second longitudinal edge that defines a second opposing side of each of the first cam slot and the second cam slot so that the cam pin is moveably received by both the first cam slot and the second cam slot. With the first jaw pivoted to at least a first position, the cam pin and first flange can be configured such that the first longitudinal edge is contacted by the cam pin but the second longitudinal edge is spaced from the cam pin. The cam pin and second flange can be configured such that the first longitudinal edge is spaced from the cam pin but the second longitudinal edge is contacted by the cam pin.

摘要: A surgical instrument is disclosed comprising a shaft, an end effector, an articulation joint rotatably connecting the end effector to the shaft, an axially movable articulation driver, and an articulation lock system. The articulation lock system comprises a lock gear and a lock element. The lock gear comprises a first annular array of first lock teeth in meshing engagement with a longitudinal array of driver lock teeth on the axially movable articulation driver and a second annular array of second lock teeth. The lock element comprises a third annular array of third lock teeth. The lock element is movably supported relative to the lock gear such that the third lock teeth meshingly engage the second lock teeth as a closure element moves through a closure stroke to prevent rotation of the lock gear and prevent the axially movable articulation driver from moving axially.
