In one aspect, a hard imaging apparatus charging device is disclosed. The charging device includes first and second end members, and an intermediate member connecting the first and second end members. The intermediate member may have a length corresponding to an imaging area of the image bearing member of the hard imaging apparatus. The intermediate member may be configured to charge the imaging area used to form latent images on the image bearing member during hard imaging operations of the hard imaging apparatus. The first and second end members of the charging device may be configured to maintain a predetermined spaced charging clearance between the intermediate member and the imaging area of the image bearing member. The first and second end members and the intermediate member of the charging device include a monolithic layer.

    摘要: An integrated printer/scanner device includes a housing that supports a scanner module and a printer that are operatively coupled together. In a preferred embodiment, the scanner module is slidably disposed in the housing and formed such that, in a home position, a portion of the scanner module extends beyond the housing. The extending portion includes a control panel thereon for operatively controlling the printer and scanner module. Preferably, the scanner module includes an automatic document feeder (ADF) for receiving documents to be scanned while the module is disposed in the home position. Additionally, the scanner module is configured such that the ADF automatically opens when the scanner module is slid out to its extended position.

    摘要: A duplexing image forming device which selectively directs printed pages back onto the original paper supply, flipped over with respect to the page's original position and swapping the leading edge for the trailing edge, for printing on a second side. The formatter in the image forming device then instructs the printer engine to print the second side of the page and reverses the order of data supplied to the print engine. A paper diverter is installed at the output of the fuser mechanism in the print engine. The diverter selectively diverts paper from the standard output path into a vertical gravity reversing slot through three reversing rollers. The paper is fed from the diverter up through the nip between the single driven reversing roller and an idler reversing roller. The driven reversing roller pushes the paper up into the vertical gravity reversing slot. As the trailing edge of the paper exits the nip between the driven reversing roller and the first idler roller, the trailing edge is carried by the driven reversing roller up and over that roller into the nip between the second idler reversing roller and the driven reversing roller. The driven reversing roller then forces the new leading edge of the paper through a duplexing channel where a duplex paper drive mechanism directs the paper onto the top of the existing paper supply tray.

    摘要: A system for providing a hard copy machine with a variety of cut sheet media trays having differing sheet stack capacities is demonstrated. A tray selector mechanism is provided in the media tray docking bay of the hard copy machine. Each tray is provided with sheet separating and picking devices and an interface coupling for engaging the tray devices to the tray selector mechanism. In the exemplary embodiment, a full height tray, that is one which occupies the entire docking bay, allows a maximum capacity of a single media type to be loaded for use in making hard copies. A number of smaller, lesser capacity trays can be substituted for the full height tray in the docking bay, each having a different media type. The tray selector mechanism is then operative to select between the lesser capacity trays on end user demand. A default position of the tray selector mechanism is provided.
